Hi everybody, just ran across this webpage today and I had to say it rocks! I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba(anybody else here from Manitoba by chance?) but I'm actually out of town in Toronto right now.

I have to admit to being pretty ignorant about doing modifications and altering my new car both performance wise and looks-wise and have had a million questions(which I'll likely ask) although don't worry, I will TRY not to ask questions that have been asked many times before, so I'll read through all these old posts.

Being from a cold climate I've already decided to take others advice on here and go and buy a decent set of winter tires/rims so I don't wind up in a ditch somewhere.

My only question for now is this one....I work for IBM and as you may or may not know, one of the company's nicknames is "Big Blue", thus my handle here...I was thinking of getting a personalized license plate with that on it when I get back home...what do you all think...cool or lame?

[Edit]Ok, I lied I have one other question. I saw a VW Golf the other day and noticed it has blue backlighting on the instrument panel and thought this would be SO well suited for the MP3. Has anybody already done this, or do you know how hard/impossible it would be to replace the red backlighting with blue?

BigBlue not to shabby.
as far as the lights go.
in my 79 rx7 (only experence with dash lights)
you must take the cluster out and replace the bulbs, sounds simple eh!
i have yet to venture into that area of the mp3's dash, and i dont think i will for a while. if you can get the cluster out without a hassle, go for it. while you are at it make a wright up on the subject and post the steps. :D

i think there was a post about this before
you not only have to change the bulbs, but there is an orange filter on the gauges themselves that you have to remove
whether or not it is removable im not sure

Hey Kurt, I noticed you are from Aurora, Ontario....I don't have a map handy how close is that to Toronto?

I actually happen to be in Toronto right now on business and I'm heading home in about a week.

Funny note...where I've been staying I have underground parking. I was going to my assigned parking spot when what did I see but another MP3! Anybody here on the board live at 10 Yonge street in Toronto? :)

Hey Blue...Well Aurora is about 30-45 minutes north of Toronto....over and hour in traffic, ugh! I work right downtown though...Close to where you are it sounds like...Where are you staying while your in Toronto? I work west of Yonge on King....Near the Roy Thompson Hall & Peel Pub and the entire entertainment district.
Hope your enjoying Toronto man, if you see an MP3 with Euro break lights and the snow tires on with a personalized license plate (starts in SPRT....) thats me, im usually driving around that area!

Well I have actually been on a couple different projects. The first one was at the corner of Yonge and Richmond so I actually just walked to work every morning. I'm staying in this sweet condo at the corner of Yonge and Lakeshore so it was a quick walk.

I'm now working near Eglington and the DVP so I get to take the car and open it up a little every morning. :)

I work as a Java developer. The first project was pretty neat, it was modifying the code for Scotiabank customers who do online stock/equity purchases. Learned a thing or two on investmests. :D
