Hello, has anyone here attempted to remove the yellow plastic signal pieces in the stock headlights. I want to replace them with Silverstars that appear blue when turned off and blink yellow when used. I've noticed in some other user signatures pictures of 03 msps with the yellow plastic removed. Thanks for the help!

Im gonna take mine out when I paint my headlights. There is a thread in the how to of how to take apart the headlight to remove them.

Thanks, it seems like its quite a bit of work to get that annoying yellow marker out. I just wish carmakers could get rid of those altogether and just use yellow bulbs. That way I can just replace the bulbs instead.

Yea I know your telling me. I hope I dont mess anything up while taking it apart. But I will be much happier with that marker out of the headlight.

the how to was posted by ghost and it was done on his p5.. i just took my orange off this past weekend following his how-to.. no offense to ghost or anything, maybe it was cuz i have a msp and his was a p5, but the bumper was no where as easy as it looks in the how to.. in the how-to, it says you have to take off like.. a total of like 6-8 bolts or something and just "lift and pull off".. it took me FOREVER.. it was more like.. 26 bolts.. i had friggin left overs which pissed me off but its all good.. theres some tricky hidden bolts so if u want, i'll try to talk you through what i remember, pm me if u want me to talk you through it.. its pretty damn time consuming so do it when u have around 3 hours to spare..

If your talking about the yellow side reflectors-
Dont piss on the car makers - piss on the stupid goverment - they are the ones that require them -

I was helping a friend of mine do his headlights and that front bumper was a pain in the ass to find all the screws.

I do agree with that in part, Horse. Its probably laws set forth by SAE and other government politics. But I do have to wonder. There are cars out here made in the US that have no yellow plastic markers on them whatsoever; anything yellow on these cars are bulbs. Although, this might sound to be a very trivial and minute issue, its just a personal peeve of mine to have the yellow/orange markers on my car. But thanks to those people out there willing to help. I think I may not want to risk messing with the headlights and potentially getting problems. Condensation for one is a problem that I've seen others have once they've altered their lights. Thanks again!

I gave it a shot this morning when I finished installing my exhaust, and I took out a bunch of screws, but no such luck. I couldn't even get the grill off, so I gave up after about 20 minutes of messing with it. Thankfully, all the screws got back on the car. I'd rather not have to deal with condensation, because that is very annoying, but who knows what tomorrow will bring...
