i have broke now.. 2 upper intercooler pipes.. anyone else having this problem.. Mazda said it was caused by the Injen intake. but they still cover it under warrenty..... i really dont see how the intake will cause the intercooler piping to break.. anyone know any else about this?

its not the injen, as I have it and no blown piping. It could be cheap glue or just shitty plastic.
btw its intercooler ;)

haha my bad.. ya.. ive gone through 2 of them.. i know pastic is shitty.. but it still shuold not break.... it breaks were the hose from the BPV goes into the upper INTERCOOLER pipe.

I busted my upper one when I put the INJEN on. Not direct correlation. You can fix it with JB Weld. Its stronger than new. Its real shitty glue from Mazda.

Blurspeed and I tried using JBweld quick on his and it broke off again. I'm not saying that it doesn't work, hell I got the idea from others on the forum. But to let you guys know, that little fucker is a pain in the ass. My mazda dealer said it was ok to put a hardpipe on that one if I wanted, but they also said, "NO DOWNPIPE". This was some time ago, but like others will say, "have them put it in writing", thats if you decide to put a hard pipe on the top. I don't think most dealers will have a problem with this at all, just ask and be really nice about it. Just tell them that your thinking about getting it done because you don't want to keep coming back and wasting their time and yours. Have them fix your pipe then put something in writing that your going to be putting on a hard pipe from the turbo to intercooler. Make it specific and I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Just be as nice as you can, being pissed doesn't work to well, I know.

Whats a while? Mine has been fixed for 17,000 miles now. Did you clean the mating surfaces properly? Thats the key to making good adhesion.
I never thought to take it back to the dealer as they are 135 miles away each way. JB Weld works good if you use it right.
I am not saying that you didn't; just pointing out that I did.

Why don't you just get the hard pipes? Unless you just don't want to pay for it.

I had the same problem and had it fixed under warenty. I took my Injen off before bringing it in.

I can see how they would want to relate the Injen to to broken plastic. Maybe they think the aluminum piping (being a bit heavier than plastic) causes extra stress on the bypass valve connections, eventually causing the nipple part to snap. Just a thought.

Mine also broke twice, and my car is completly stock. ( except for the loose nut behind the wheel)
Both times it broke right at the BPV nipple.

mine broke too, so I just put a plug on both the pipe and the hose, until I get hard pipes.

Go to AutoZone and get some 15minute epoxy. I think it's the 3500psi strength. Sand the areas where the two pipes join to be sure they are scuffed up a bit.. Then mix the epoxy and apply. Be careful not to block the hole too much. Sit there and hold the pipes together until the epoxy bonds and holds. Then let the car sit for about an hour before running it, even though it's 15min epoxy.
You do *not* want that pipe blocked off.

just out of curiosity why not? I don't feel any difference when I drive?

If you "plug" your hole, you'll have 0 means of blowoff, or bypass which = bad for your turbo.

a pattion letter, get everyone to sign it, the letter stating about how insuffient and low grade quality the IC pipes are. Something like that (shrug)
