Ok guys for those of you on the group buy you've already seen my posts, but I though I'd start a new thread here for everyone to look at. I'm currently testing 2 different exhausts...the corksport 2.4 inch and a 3" exhaust(I wont say a brand on this one so dont ask). Ok now to the first batch of results. The corksport on my stock flashed car gained 13hp and 7lbs of torque. The power band for hp was an over all upward shift of the curve, while the torque seemed to dip a little bit at lower rpms, but gained on higher rpms(over 4K). Fairly impressive, but I was highly irritated with the modfication of the hangers in order to fit my car. The next step was intake, and a mbc set at 12psi. The corksport exhaust had a significant boost drop above 5500 rpms. I went from making 12psi to finishing off the shift point at 9-10psi...So as far as the 2.4" exhaust goes, I would have to say it works great up to about 10psi, after that it just seems it doesnt flow enough...perhaps this is just the case on my car. Next I'll be testing out the 3" which I think will give bigger gains under high boost. Currently my car is sitting at mazda to have the stupid passenger window fixed, it doesnt like to close all the way...im currenlty bobbling back between 2 different projects so I might have more info next week or it may be next month...school tends to get in the way...

You're prolly right w/ the CorkSport exhaust. I have one and I LOVE it... it was worth bending the hangars for sure. The only reason I don't consider there to be a SINGLE problem w/ it is because I don't plan on getting a MBC, and therefore aren't planning to up my boost. If I were, I'd get a 3" exhaust for more airflow, because after a certain point 2.4" becomes restrictive. Let us know how the 3" turns out.

Sounds nice. Keep us updated.

No question the corksport is desinged for boosting around 10lbs max. It's not ideal for those looking to pull down huge numbers with upped boost. It's great to see your numbers matched up with corksports exactly!

Great work (burnout)

Hey there! Thanks for the write up!

I do have one question that no one has been able to answer for me, so I hope YOU could:

With the Corksport exhaust, there is no bunghole for the 2nd O2 sensor. What did you do with the O2 sensor? Do you get a check engine light.

Please let me know as I have been leaning to buy this setup with 10PSI max in mind. Also, what specifically did you have to do with the hangers?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, what Heathen said.. you just have to unscrew a bolt, reroute your O2 sensor, and thread it in, and there you go! Oh yeah, get a MIL eliminator from www.apexr1.com (http://www.apexr1.com).

he said he used corksport's exhaust. that means it bolts to the spring flange before the 1st cat.

thanks... I'm too lazy to check................... Though, strangely, not too lazy to type this post, which is longer than corksports web address.... Logic fails me, time to sleep

I installed mine yesterday and appear to have plenty of clearance.
It could be that the first owner bent them though, but it's not noticeable.

yea i actually had to take mine off and bend it more again today! was still rattling a tad...found the easiest way to ben is with a 1 1/4 box wrence on the end of the hangers...bends them very easily....much easier than this heating business everyone is doing...

I heard one rattle off the cross member going over a sidewalk on an angle. Scared the $hit out of me, i thought the exhaust had fallen off!
