Tune up for the MSP??

I've got almost 35,000 miles on the MSP, and I'm wondering about the valves...Can I take it to anybody for a valve adjustment, or just the dealer? I really don't want to go to the dealer because I don't feel like being raped. I have a shop in mind that used to do all my work on my Civic, and I would definately trust them with the Mazdaspeed. If I can take it to them, are there any special adjustment specs?

Your valvetrain should be fine at that mileage. Mazdas do not need to be adjusted like Hondas.


Are you hearing more noise than usual? Any smoke coming from the exhaust when driving?

I would just put in a fresh set of plugs, pcv valve, air filter, etc and keep on driving.

My motorcycle needed valve adjustment, but I dont think you need to worry about that for a while on this thing.
