Heres the header i bought off ebay. I got it for $190 shipped, and the quality of it isnt bad at all. I just dont like where they decide to weld their damn logo. Other then that, not bad at all for $200. I'll be doing a full review of this header once i get to installing it, with the help of tonka and mp5spicey.

Cool. If you don't mind, do you think you could get one of your helpers to go crazy with the digicam during installation? This is one of those mods that I think I might try sometime in the future, but I want to see what is involved first...
You can do what I did, take out the badge and be ready because it's loud....

Looks real good for $200. But I agree with you about where they welded their logo. It is really in the way.
What kind of sound difference could someone expect with a set of headers.

header volume increase still depends on how good your resonator and muffler are. if you have a canister exhaust, get some ear plugs. if you have some high density muffler like racing beat, there's virtually no increase in noise.

will do. no one really has done a full writeup/picture/video review, and i intend to do so. im gonna film before, and after. capturing the sound difference from inside and outside the car. also, ill try and film the install process, but at the least ill get pictures of what was done to get it installed. i bought this $120 capture card, so id better get some use out of it.

Wow, if i new there was this much interest, i would have done a how to on it. I got the Forza Header as well.
Its quite easy. I'll post pics of mine installed in 5 mins.
BTW, Forza Tuning in the UK made the header and OBX is just the USA distributor.

Exactly, on my Racing Beat Exhaust, stock on the MP3, there isn't much more noise, but a nice low growl at low RPM.
The car picks up better at mid-high RPMs

did you powdercoated them?

The headers? No. Nor did I do the ceramic coating everyone likes. I'm not worried about heat too much, once i have my custom CAI built anyway.
Plus if color is your worry, Eastwood sells some polish like stuff that you can apply to your header to put it back to shine like new. Works on stainless (like mine) or chrome headers.

Any chance of power increase information? Dyno sheets would be great if you can get to a dyno.

Shit, i'd love to dyno my car, except i don't think there is a single dyno in my town. I have some digimoto software coming tomorrow, that runs est. dynos, i'll post those they generally are pretty good at estimating.

it'd be nice to get it dyno'd, so we could really see some numbers.

did you read all the stuff it comes with though ceramic coated high flow cat this is a compleat package not just headers liek I got form racing mazda
tonkabui
04-15-2004, 11:21 PM
not bad after conversion rate (about $550US). shipping is gonna be a killer though.
with the racing mazda header, you can get the midpipe and high flow cat for $150 from any muffler shop. then coating is another $150.
also, i notice the midpipe is 2.5" big. stock piping at the resonator is almost 2". most cat back exhausts are not much bigger than 2" at the resonator. the 2.5" midpipe is a waste unless you go full custom 2.5" catback exhaust.

there are a few systems out that are 2.5 all the way back....but your best bet is custom piping and a nice muffler, with 1 cat and at least one res.

batmang let me know the results of the Es as i am interested in it as well

cdglowred5 has the ES 4-2-1 header setup and he said it pulls from 2,500 rpm's to 7,000 rpm's. He will be dyno'ing it soon and im looking forward to seeing the results. heres a link to his thread:
http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64380
Along with the ES 4-2-1, I have a Magnaflow cat-back coming as well. Both have been ordered I'm just awaiting their arrival. I wont be dyno'ing them, for I am broke after buying the parts, but I will be doing a video review on both of the products once they come in.

i have yet to receive my header yet, but check out this thread, has more detail on the sensors.
http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64380
" Since putting on the header I have not thrown a CEL. The 2nd O2 bung is behind the High flow CAT on the midpipe. You have to get some extra wire or strtch your o2 slightly which I did.
Also if you have stock exhaust from second cat all the way back the gasket that is supplied did not work because the stock flange was a different size but the gasket does work. You turn it so no bolts go though and aplly some red high temp silcone and no exhaust leak..
The header is two piece for an easy install. There no gasket there because it is pressure fitted. The technolgy is from Honda.....
You will love the performance and it does make your car louder but not honda loud. Mustang guys said my car sounds nice...... "

I installed the Forza header about 2 weeks ago, and have since noticed that it is touching or almost touch other parts around it. It is like it almost doesn't fit. The 1st O2 sensor is nearly jammed up against the side of the transmission, and the header is touching some metal lines, I think they are coolant lines. The heat can't be good. Anyone else have these problems? Is it 'okay'? I am actually taking it out tomorrow and going back to stock, as I just found out that Washington state has a 10,000 fine if the authorities find out you have messed with the emissions systems. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.

Well, I rethought my decision to take it out. Need to find out more info about whether my concerns are warranted or not. If I take it out, I don't know what I will do with it, probably sell it but not on ebay. If you were asking did I get it on ebay, no. I got it at www.tuningdepot.com
Ebay???
