My first post with my new MSP!

I have the G2 Brake Caliper paint. I heard its best to do this with all four wheels off due to the fast drying time. I don't have a lift, but i do have a jack and 4 jack stands. I just dont feel real safe about a car on four jack stands. Whats the best way to go about this. Or should i just try to do 2 at a time?

i don't trust 4 stands, just do 2 at a time

what does it matter if you paint one caliper at a time...
just put the cap on the paint...

the g2 has a paint and a chemical reactor, and once they are mixed even if you put the lid on it will still harden.

You can do just 2 at a time we did xxMSPxx's calipers the other day and did it that way.

I bought the Mack truck 2.5 ton or 3 ton jacks from walmart and jacked my buddies 240sx up for 5 days on 4 jack stands. I think the S13 240s weigh around $2500 lbs....so I would feel safe putting it on my car. Im sure you'll be okay. just try to set it on the lowest notch.

Just do 2 at each time on one side (driver or passenger). Nobody is going to look at 4 of your calipers at the same time. Even the color vary a little bit by putting the cap on the paint, it won't matter because when they looked at either your driver or passenger side, they will be close enough for them to tell a different.

Yeah I wouldnt worry about it being on 4 jack stands, make sure you are going to be on level ground and go to town. You wont be under the car at all and you wont be doing anything that rocks the car much.

i don't like leaving a car on 4 jack stands. i try to avoid these scenarios.

it would be easier to order 2 things of paint, and do one per side, unless you are really comfortable having all the tires off at the same time. i did one side at a time. the cleaning spray takes a little time and has to rest on the calipers for a few and then be cleaned off. it's a good idea to get more than one wire brush. and scrubbing them clean might take a while, depending on your situation.

it doesn't take long to paint both sides separately, 2 calipers at a time

they recommend a couple of coats, but i did three coats.. you have to wait about 10-15 minutes between coats.. but once the paint is mixed, it's only good for a few hours.

in total, it took me about 5 hours (i went out for a while the first side was drying), and by the end, the paint was stiffening.

you shouldn't drive for 24 hours afterwards, so doing it on a weekend when you can use alternate transportation is a good idea.

it's good to do it in a garage so the calipers don't get any bugs or leaves or anything stuck to them when they are trying to dry. i did mine in my garage, but in 30-40 degree weather. that was a bad idea because the paint doesn't dry as well in the cold. i will probably do a touch-up on them because it dropped to below freezing when they were drying.

As long as you know what you're doing, putting the MSP on 4 jackstands is no problem. I do it everytime I rotate my tires & when I installed my MIL.

g2 is brushed on, not sprayed. the only spray in the box is a brake cleaner to use beforehand. there are only a few little spots you might want to cover, but it's really easily contained with the little brush they give you.

I jack mine on all 4 all the time for oil changes or anything. just make sure your level and each stand is secured. also leave the jack up and locked. I have been under my car with an over torqued oil bolt pulling and pushing the crap out of it and the car didn't budge.

I have 2.5 ton jacks! don't be scruuured.. especially since your not under it and barely touching it.

lol. i'm not a little scared one often, but i just prefer not leaving them all jacked up at once when i'm not there to baby my car. it's not anything to get scared about.

hey everyone, so to jack the car on 4 stands, do you jack the sides or front and back? and also, where is the jacking point in the rear (for floor jack)? thanks

i just had my MSP on all 4 jack stands today to put on my new exhaust, and it was fine. i jacked up the back first, then the front!

Do two...... wait roughly 30 mins put wheels back on (i know it says 2 hours) do the other two and viola!

otherwise you do like i did and end up buying two cans because once mixed it'll turn to jello within the hour

4 stands is perfectly safe... Jack right in between the rear lower control arms (where they bolt into the subframe), in the front you can normally jack right under the engine support - mine moves some on my car, kinda annoys me... it should be strong enough to not budge, so I use a piece of wood to spread the load better.

why would you be afrade to jack up all 4 ar the same time? i dont understand that. it safeer than 2 at a time because that whole car is levle.

because i'm afraid that when i'm putting the last 2 jacks on, the jacks that the car is already on would tip over or something...
