MTMA East Coast Meet this Saturday: Gauging interest for a FUN RUN after the meet?

Hey guys,

I just realized that Colonial Park isn't far at all from the area we normally hold our monthly Fun Runs. It's 25 miles away and shouldn't take more than 35 minutes to get there.

Once there we could go on a 'modified' shorter version of the 45 mile cruise. For those that have already done the run before, it would be the 2nd half of the cruise only (the good part!). So it would be about an extra 70 miles to drive to the area, drive around the loop, and to get back to the park.

It could be done around 3:30-4:00 (when the meet is ending), and we'd be back in time for dinner and fun at the club.

There's plenty of twisties, curves, and hills.

The only problem I see is the amount of people that would want to come.

So how about we do this: If anybody from really far wants to go on a drive to see what kind of fun we can have around here, I'll gladly lead a small pack of up to 10-15 cars. More than that it gets hard for everyone to keep up.

I'm going to ask that anyone who is able to make it to one of the monthly fun runs (anyone fairly close to the meet), to just wait until another time...I'm planning another run in May, June, July, etc....

For everyone's information - if you are lowered more than 2" I would not suggest going on this ride. Stock ride height and slightly lowered has been fine for everyone. But people with slammed rides (;) Protege5Gurly) have had some scraping due to some crazy elevation changes.

What do you guys think?

Great idea that would be awsome if we could have all those cars doing the fun-run the only way I see that happening though is if somone could lead packs of 10-15 each time and who knows the route well enough.

That's a great way to show what kind of fun we have, plus show off some of the beautiful scenery we have in the area. I think the out of state (NEPOC/ProMaz) folks would dig it. I know I like to check that stuff out in new areas.

Very true! I figure I'll wait until the next run, so as not to take a spot from a "visitor". lol Unless no one goes. But I highly doubt that.

Yeah the twisties aren't as good as Hawk's Nest but they're still pretty damn good ;)

I'd love to go, but I'm heading back early to make an afternoon autocross. We have a monthly fun run ourselves and I always look forward to it. :)

Yes this is on Saturday. If interest really explodes, I can do it both on Saturday AND on Sunday to let more people go...I know a bunch of people are staying in the area on Saturday night.

Yeah it was the first nice, warm weekend, so the tourist trap that is New Hope, PA was too damn crowded. So we got separated a couple of times, but no big deal, we all found each other. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.
