Umm needless to say im lucky to survive a crash like this...
Im on the road (glades road) turning onto Cain blvd (right turn) going about 40 mph... slowing down when a truck of some kind rear ends me and sent me hydroplaning into a wall accross to the street.
Now this is pretty bad, whats worst is the driver of the truck ran away. Luckily i have 2 witnesses that saw the whole thing to back up the story (actually i didn't know it was a truck till they told me....)
I dont think my baby is ok.. ill get pics today and ill post them up here later when i can walk ( i think i majorly sprained my ankle)

I'm glad you're OK. Do you have uninsured motorist coverage or gap? Just curious how all the legalities will work out. Sorry to hear about the speed. You should be able to pick up another low mileage one for a decent price nowdays.

Yeah, the thing about the baby scared me the same way at first. Really sorry to hear it, and glad you're okay. That's the main thing. As callous as this may sound, if it's totaled, find out what wrecking yard it winds up in and post the info in the "dead msp's" thread. You or someone else may need parts from it one day.
Sorry in advance for the following threadjack (and I'll be posting more about this in another section soon), but I've been away from the forums for over a week. On April 3rd I lost my aunt, uncle and youngest cousin in a horrific head-on collision on Hwy. 193 in NW Georgia. The middle and oldest boys survived and will be okay, however physically and emotionally scarred. A 22 yr. old in an S-10 driving really fast (and like an idiot), cut fully into their lane trying to make a curve and plowed them.
Now, more than ever, I think about what can happen just driving along and minding your own business. I'm glad you are safe and I hope you don't have to go through something like this ever again.
Be safe people, please.

I'd like to recommend everybody read a book called "Drive To Survive" by Curt Rich.
It's short, and it's an easy read. But it gives you a lot of tips about defensive driving, always knowing about your surroundings, etc.
It also teaches you some crazier stuff like 180 degree foward & backward spins, how to properly ram a car, and the like (only to be used in true emergency situations like when your life is in danger.....although doing a bootlegger's hairpin in a parking lot is fun :) )
Best of all it's only like $15.

can you buy it back for a dollar?

DAMN, I go to school by Glades & Federal Highway...that's really close I think. I'm glad to hear you're ok, which is probably thanks to the airbags. That's only the 2nd time I've seen a wrecked MSP where they actually deployed.

He wasn't being a vulture and How 'bout a link to where we can purchase it? was meant for the book not the speed. Easily mistaken though.

Eh, I'd at least take off the wheels/tires. It's easy, and you can make some money back off of them. There's at least one thread here that's looking for wheels......

Heh.. leg hurts pretty bad after 5 days... and no they didn't get the license plate and it was brand new 5 months old just hit 11000 miles that day... FYI i poped the hood today (alot of effort actually) and everything is pushed back, no more hold to see the turbo,
As far as a new car i dont know yet, i woulda loved a mazdaspeed miata but mazda sucks w/ their service so i think im going to crawl back to mitsubishi (across the street from mazda) and evolve a little? ;)

I feel for you man. My girlfriend got hit by a guy backing a trailer into the street, spun her around and she nearly went through a fence and into a wall of pvc. The man gave police his insurance information only for us to find out that his insurance expired almost a year ago.... Bastard! We thought she was screwed because she only had liability, but she was very lucky to have uninsured motorist. The worst part was the fact that it took 6 months before her claim was over and she got her check in the mail. I hope yours doesnt take that long man. And seriously if I get hit by someone without insurance he better be a big mother because its going to take almost all my strength to not beat the shit out of him.
Actually me and my gf witnessed somebody clipping somebodys car in the mall parking lot and she pulled out and reparked, well we got her liscense plate and gave all the info we had to the driver of the truck, (left our number and what kind of car the person had, liscense plate and such, said we would help out since we were a witness) The person was so happy that we were so nice to help them out that she actually sent us a 50.00 gift certificate in the mail to the mall. Even though the police said that they couldnt do anything!
Sorry for the thread jack.., hope everything works out in a timely manner.
