Just curious if anyone has installed undercar neon. And what brand is the best? also, what are legal regulations on this? :p

Ok I'll handle this one.
I put yellow underbody neon kit on my MP3. If you want the 'best' brand, I would say go with the Streetglow Gold Series.
I paid $250 for mine, installed. Here's a pic:

yellow neon would be kinda cool on a yellow car but ive never seen one in real life.. just in my imagination :), or you can have all the colors and have them blink and strobe... just don't drive with them strobing LOL

I have the Street Glow Gold Series Blue's. On yellow, the Blue, and the Yellow would look great. So would Red.

I have streetGEAR (NOT street glow) blue neons on my yellow mp3. The streetgear are FAR brighter than the street glow...right, derrick?

As far as I've heard the rules are pretty simple.
red and blue = illegal
and
any visible bulbs = illegal
As in, you can't have them lining the outside of your car.

so basically if i have purple neon hidden underneath the car, and shines on the ground. that would be considered legal? well .obviously we are not putting into account of those @$$hole cops..

from what I know...if your car is moving the neons can't be on regardless of color....but if your car is stationary you can have them on....:D...btw red neon on a yello car would look good...

Me and Jag were rollin through Midlothian the other night, and these Cops pull in to the Parking lot where we were, and told us that we had to cut them off only because they could see the bulbs. I gotta figure out how to hide them better.

so did you ever get pulled over by the cops while u have them turned on while moving? excluding the fact that the tube is shown.

Almost a year ago, but I have them on every night, and go by Cops, and do not get hassled at all. As a matter of fact, I was at Tower Records in Dallas last week, and the Cops in the Parking lot just asked me if blue was my favorite color. They then proceeded to tell me that my car was nice.

Laws vary state to state.
-Red&blue is illegal everywhere.
-In many (but not all) states, just red is illegal (emergency vehicles).
-Bulbs showing is illegal in most, but not all states (indy is fine, you ought to see some of the ugly exposed shit).
-Running w/ lights is NOT illegal in all states (again, Indy is fine w/ it)
Your BMV/DMVmight have something on the website. Experienced sound/appearance installers in your area should be able to rattle off all the rules at will.
Happy hunting!

Yeah, if you've got some pictures I'd be real interested in seeing.
I've never even heard of that brand, and everyone I've talked to has said that Streetglow is the brightest.
Frankly, I don't really care... mine are fine the way they are.
I'm not trying to doubt you, just curious. (boobs)

Nah, i've seen hundreds of street glow kits. This kit is WAY brighter than even the gold series.

I dont know about any other states... but in california ANY TYPE OF AFTERMARKET EXTERIOR LIGHTING MOD IS ILLEGAL
Whether it be Neons, Cobra Eyes, most altezza/euros (excluding the 50 state legal ones), most HID, hyperwhite, xenons, etc.... I think cali has the strictest laws when it comes to shit like that... The reason my car got impounded is cuz i had underchasis lighting... but anyway... cops out here will stop you just to measure your headlights to make sure they are 22 1/2 inches off the ground.... they stop you because your exhaust tip looks big... they stop you cuz you have a bright blue/yellow/red car... etc etc etc.... CA is the most fucked up state when it comes to traffic laws and fix it tickets.. etc

yah... it is fun to use the lights on the freeway... especially if theyre bright and colorful :) and ESPECIALLY if your an attention wh0re (like me :) ) because your obviously gonna get pretty much everyone that you pass to look at your car lol... whether they want to or not... cmon now.. if you see bright colored lights in the middle of the night on a dark stretch of highway, its gonna stick out from taillights and headlights and your eyes are outomatically going to focus on it.. its almost like a scientific fact or whatever.. lol.. anyway, yah, it feels awsome to cruise down the freeway and look out and down your window at your light reflecting off the freeway pavement (or sometimes when you pass ppl you can see your reflection :) )
