Attention everyone:
This thread is to question: What parts don't exist that you would like to exist for your Mazdaspeed, MP3, or Protege5?
We have had great success with our G3 and R1 products and would like to feel out the forums to see if there is anything else marketable that we could provide based upon customer demand.
Let us know!
Thanks.

the product that i would like to see for the pro5 is this.
have you seen the DG carbon fiber downforcers that go under the corners of the front bumper. i would like something similar to that to bolt underneath the side skirts so it just has a lil carbon fiber lip to flow with the downforcers.

I know a lot of people would really love to see Sti style (metal mesh or FG doesn't matter) foglight covers for the 03 MSP, MP3 and P5. Considering the fact you already have made the bracket design that fits into the opening, it seems it would be pretty easy to fabricate on the to make the base for the bracket to hold the foglight cover. Just an idea for ya.

Here ya go. I'm planning on tinting the front two windows before I go back up north for summer vacation, so only the back few windows are tinted. It's a slight silverish tint.. I forget what percentage it was.. but its very subtle unless its a bright day. When the sun hits it, it looks great... can't really see it in the picture.

Thanks for the input. Okay, we've been working on this idea. We could utilize the G3 bracket, and instead of mounting a fog light to it, we could mount a metal cover (paint to match car). Thing is, you would have to screw it in from the rear with four screws, and four nuts versus front screw self tapering. We could definitely do this but we need demand - so far, I haven't seen it (more than 10 people). Price would be probably $50.00 for everything.

why does everyone want foglight COVERS? i like my fogs on and lighting up the road...
What Id like is some new design of grill other than the autoexe style. Maybe something like on the mazda3s that has the two horizontal bars in it(cept w/o a mazda logo)
Maybe also a true widebody kit. I.E. new front and rear quarter panels that allow WIDE tires and not that crap from DG that sticks onto the stock fenders. Sure it would be pricey, but Id be willing to pay about $1500 for it.
Thinking about it though, the products you have out are MUCH simpler than what people are recomending...Some more realistic product might be a gauge cluster surround with holes and mounting brackets for gauges on either side.
Maybe some kind of armrest extension that makes the armrest functional for actually RESTING YOUR ARM on it, of all things (lol)

I would MOST definently be interested in something like this --- weather or not you have a Lip or downforcers -- it would really be kick ass to have something that we could bolt under the side skirts to match the hight of the front --- this would be a perfect alternative to getting a body kit -- cause if its -- say -- like carbonfiber -- then it saves us the cost of painting and we inturn get a little lower look ---- I'd say about a 3/4 inch add on would be about right to give the slight lower look ---

EDIT: from their site: Note: Part No. 123GR, 139GR & 258GR are made for the Japanese version Mazda 323 which is different from the US Protege, therefore needs modification in order to fit the US models.
Those part numbers are for the grilles they offer. I know I've seen a couple proteges with this grille though. A red 5 and a Ti MSP come to mind.

I agree with whoever recommended a new rear license plate mount. Being in Michigan, my plate is also somewhat smaller. I have a frame that fits decently, but I also wish I could screw the lower end in. The stock mount has nothing for the bottom of the plate to screw in to.
And the fog light covers can't be plain metal. They either need something embossed/debossed on them like "MAZDA" or they should be mesh.

how about a stainless steel cover for the pocket below aftermarket cd players that say Protege5 (like the radiator covers someone on the board is working on) I sorta have this setup right now with the OEM Protege5 rear emblem.. i'll try to remember to snap some pics tomorrow, they might be camera phone quality though. it's temporary but I think it looks nice. The OEM rear badge is a nice fit for the spot too.
Oh and here is my idea for something to make. A new front license plate bracket that doesn't have to be drilled into the visible parts of the bumper and that has a quick release to detach the front license plate. I can make a crude drawing of this concept if anyone doesn't get it, i'm sorta tired so this might not be coherent.

Now that we have the ZLINE created and in motion, we would like to continue workig on the "dead pedal" idea.
Okay, we can EASILY fabricate a dead petal that would be 14 or 12 gauge thick (real thick) and can find the right screw combination to affix it to the interior of the car.
Regarding "matching" it to the MSP is another thing -
1. We noticed that the pedals (2003.5 and 2003 I think) are painted, not REAL metal.
2. We have to be very careful as far as "matching" doesn't infringe upon Patents, etc.
3. We could easily do a nice piece, but we are unable to supply rubber inserts.
With the three points above being said, would you want us to make a cool looking dead pedal and the end user be responsible for painting it? We could shoot for a introduction price point of $30.00 shipped for those that are interested.
Let us know!

ok first to the person that mentioed new interioir door nubs, the is a how-to on how to shorten them so they sit flush when locked.
As for the fog light covers, we have done a few GI threads before and always get a list of 25-30 people but no one to make them for us.
So if you guys are seriously interested in making the covers with enough people I can start a gauging interest or even the GB thread itself tonight if you want someone here to set it up and I know we will get 10-15 people at minimum soon.
Let me know and I will set it up.

I had one of theirs - simple design, had to utilize different hardware but was awesome on my P5.
We could do something similiar if the demand is there.
Regarding the rear license plate frame, we could do anything, in fact we are thinking about aluminum anodized, but there the demand would have to be significant as well and would be around $35.00 each/shipped (or close to that).

Regarding the rear for sedans, I just drilled two holes and used hex bolts/nuts up top and foamed the back of the plate. With my old P5, I did a custom back plate, screwed the license plate as normal through the top holes and on the bottom I had reversed the screw/nuts to hold the bottom and that worked.

R3? You mean, G3 versus R1, now we have ZLINE, and P7! LOL.
Seriously, I am in-process of designing a plate to remove the fake switches all together and that can screw in with factory screws. I wasn't planning on doing rocker switches, rather mounting a GReddy TT or Profec there. Price would be around $20.00 shipped and would probably be made out of aluminum.

Here is the deal. If demand is high, I will make a metal plate for a GReddy product. If the demand isn't high, then I will probably make a few ABS plastic 3/16" plates and customized it accordingly. I have all the material, and will attempt to do it this weekend (barring time). Therefore, I can make you a one-off plate with holes in it for your choice of rockers, etc.
Remind me in a few days and I'll have something for you.

If you could design a front and back bracket that hides behind the plate, and make it like $50 for the combo that would be sweet!

Ahhh, I see how you did it - nice, though it looks like some I've seen in Murray's Auto Supply. It basically is a "I" bracket that you screw to the car and then at the top of the I, it is raised a bit (because of bolt), and you screw standard license plate into that. I've also seen universal brackets like this.
Hmmm, I don't have a P5 anymore, but may consider this idea. Price around $50.00 doesn't sound far off for a pair (front/rear).
Who is interested, start a list...

- Brian1)MCSTARK -- I'm in..with one suggestion: make it so you can attach the license plate with four screws, instead of just two.
Yeah...my mod is not the most elegant thing, but the plate covers it, so it doesn't have to be pretty. I'll post my "how to" in a day or so, and maybe that will give you some ideas for the design.
Do you work in a machine shop for a living...or just on the side? Hehe...nevermind, I just checked out your website...I shoulda stuck to my guns and went for engineering, oh well....

Another product suggestion...a glovebox organizer. I saw another one online, but the guy never came through. His was $35, from overseas, and cheap plastic. I hate having all my crap stacked together.
You could make the middle compartment big enough to carry CD's -- that would give the "legs" a wide enough stance to be stable.
Here's a quick drawing I did to give you an idea...

Sorry, demand is not high. We work with metal only as of current.

I would like to second/third the clear bumper lenses. I know you can use Celica or RX-7 lenses to replace them with some modifications. I do not like the look of these all that much and am afraid of doing these mods, especially the RX-7 by using a dremel tool. I think the same lense but clear would like exceptional. I heard around that you can actually make the orange coulored ones clear soemhow, although I dont believe it totally. I know this must seem minor to some of your other requests but I would appreciate if you could consider this.
