Recently picked up an 04 Subaru WRX black sedan. Its just too much for me and I am looking for more of a fun econobox type car. I would like to find someone who recently bought a fun econobox and wants to get more car, but doesnt want to lose out trading in a brand new car.

I will, however, consider simply purchasing someone's car if they will take over payments on mine. As a recent college graduate, I don't have much cash on hand, but I can get financing for a used car through my credit union. I cant finance more than bluebook value, so dont ask. If I do finance, I am willing to be as generous as I can on the amount (up to bluebook) that I pay for the car.

Car has factory alarm and short shifter. It's all stock. A tiny scratch from a shopping cart and about 4000 miles atm. I have pics, just email me for them.

What I want to do is have someone take over payments on the wrx, I figure that someone who is unhappy with their cheaper car would be more likely to do this, but anyone who will take over payments would be fine I will then take over payments for your car(or purchase, as detailed above)

I pay $450 a month, I didnt make a downpayment and I have 1.9% financing. Only made 1 payment.

I am looking for:

Scion xb
honda civic(si or ex)
toyota matrix
protege

I will consider many other types of car though if you are willing to take over payments on the wrx.

I realize that this is a long shot, but I figure that it's worth a try.

If you have any interest, let me know and we will see if there is a mutually beneficial solution that we can design. I am completely willing to drive anywhere in cali if we can come to an agreement.

I am also offering $500 if someone simply wants to take over payments.

From what I hear, it's not as easy as everybody thinks about taking over someone's payments.
But I may be wrong. Bump

well, I called subaru to ask what the procedure is.

It really is that simple :)

I tell them the name of the person who wants my car.
That person calls subaru finance and applys.
We each get a letter in about a week.
If they are approved, the letter will contain a date, on that date they own the car.

Done and done

What's your balance on the Subie? That's more important to some people (a.k.a. me) than monthly payment. And by balance I mean your payoff amount.

payoff is 25300, since I didn't put a downpayment, and have only made 1 payment.

I have a MSP you might be interested in. What kind of WRX is it. Is it the STI? My MSP has a 3 inch downpipe with 3 inch exhaust, momo shift knob with momo boot, Nology Spark Plugs and a nice aftermarket alarm. I'm getting a intercooler, intake, and greddy Type S blowoff valve, on Monday. Then RIGHT AFTER that I'm getting my Cobalt air fuel ratio and boost gauge put it on a full pillar along with my profec B boost controller. I got my MSP on the 1st of December. I'm estimating a 250 horsepower to the wheels at 10 pounds of boost. I'm in San Diego. Give me a call at 619-997-7618. My name is Will

hahahahahahaha omg that was funny. If it was an STI, then I think he would have mentioned it somewhere along the line don't you think?

Hehe I noticed that, too, and laughed, especially since he said he bought it new, made just 1 payment and put nothing down... all that with a payoff of $25,000. Man, if you could tell me where I can get a brand-new STi for $25,000 I'd be all over it! (evil)

no offense, but if you only made one payment, why would some one want to take over your payments after a month. you paid 450 so far on it? I think most people would rather pay an extra 450 and get a brand new one with 0 miles.... but hey thats just my opinion. i think you might want to lower your price....

You can drive a brand new WRX off the lot for about $24k. I just did it in Oceanside, CA a few months ago.

well, wagons are cheaper, and I got a couple options that upped the price a bit...I did start out below invoice though so I got a great price.

There are 2 reasons that someone would want to trade with me

1: they are in a similar situation, but they have a cheaper car and want something nicer/faster. If they were to trade the car in and buy a wrx, they would take a big hit...as would I if I traded my car to a dealer and got something cheaper.

2: they own their car and want a wrx, I can offer much more than a dealer, or than just about any other private party. For example, I am talking to someone with a car that was asking 12k, I am offering him 15k and all he does is take my payments. That seems like a pretty damn good deal for him...and it lowers my payments a ton while I still take a smaller hit than trading the car in to a dealer.

I am offering win/win situations to each person that has interest. I have had tons of interest, but each person has had some compelling reason that they couldn't complete the trade :(

As far as lowering my price...that isn't an option for me. If I had the cash, I would sell my car and pay off the remaining and buy a beater to drive. I just can't do that at this point. If sales go well, I will be able to in a month or so, but if I find a good deal before then...great.
