The word is that Binary is making some
Essential speed has some
Ion has some
You can custom make them
Hi Boost has a Hard pipe kit (along w/ FMIC)

There are lots out there, it's up to you though how much you want to spend! :)

If you want to do the Greddy BOV, and want the flange welded on and it mounted, then you'll want to ship it out before the pipes get made. Ive seen them for for 150-180+ 20-30 flange.

I'll let you know. I'm gonna call Bill tomorrow.
www.autolab.com (http://www.autolab.com) is the website.

When doing custom pipes, what size pipes? Also, what type of metal? And it's probably a good idea to get mandrel bends, no?

Thanks,

the guy who made mine has all the specs. Its alum piping, 2.5 on the lower i/c pipe, and 2.25 on the turbo side.

I talked about this briefly with Chris at CPRacing. It looked to be around $700 CAN (I think around $450 US). However I'm leaving my girl stock since I'm more interested in getting toys for my bike. Check him out at cpracing.ca and email him.

make sure the bends are mandrel, non mandrel bends will change the diameter of the piping which causes restricted flow

anyone know of any hardpipes i can get that will work with my forge bov?

I'm curious about this too. Are different flanges required for different BOV/BPV's? Or will a flange work with any type of bypass valve?

Any updates Ky? Also did you keep the stock BPV? If not do you have any issues with stalling and such?

I just PM'd Bill, and will let you all know as soon as i have a figure. :)

And if you want an aftermarket(greddy, HKS) bov, then you'll need to send the flange, or pay for him to order it. The greddy can probably be installed locally, but the HKS uses a snap ring for placement, and youd need a shop or to send the BOV down for it to be fitted on.

More details when i have them.

also - if the bov is welded to the hardpipes, how easy is it to remove (if at all)? has anyone had problems and had to replace entire bov's because they had welded them on?

thanks

It is that simple. Although it takes an act of god to pull off our stock pipes.

so if i had a set of pipes, would you think that i could pull into my garage and do the work myself? is it pretty much just a bolt on type project?

i know people who have the kit that warrier04 is displaying. they are made by www.extreme-speed.net (http://www.extreme-speed.net)
they are a company from Springfield, MO. They have sold lots of those kits on the internet. I will be buying my hardpipes from them soon. Easy to install, and they will do the dual bpv/bov setup if you want. Good pricing, nice people most of the time. they powdercoat them, so the pipes withstand heat. More people on here should buy from them. Pm me if you buy from them.

Ok everyone, if you want the autolab hard pipes like mine, it would be about 450 plus shipping for the hard pipes including a cold air style intake.
Thats the turbo to i/c pipe, i/c to throttle body pipe, CAI style intake, and connectors and clamps.

Bill is an AWESOME welder. If you dont want the intake, then subract about 50 bucks.
This is a STEAL for awesome pipes by a company who i have direct contact with and am friends of the owner. Comparable hard pipe and intake packages are going to run about 600-700 bucks.

If you want more info on the product, then i can get you contact info for Bill(Autolab).

But you also get a cai, which is what I was plannin on next anyways. I dunno, I'm pretty psyched.

Also, does the cai include filter? Or would I have to supply that?

Thanks again KY!

KyRaceFan
04-04-2004, 08:29 PM
Filter wouldnt be included, but you can get a k&n for about 35-40.
The CAI has a 3in inlet.

And yea, i'll be honest, you could pay alot less for hardpipes if you bought a couple mandrel bends, and knew a cheap welder, but Bill does AWESOME work, and stands by it.

Yea im sure you could put the filter in the engine bay if you wanted.
But it really makes no difference at all on a turbo car.
