(rtfm) Other than the obvious...jack, spare tire, and my fat girlfriend....What can I lose to trim down my porky Protege? And no I'm not taking out the back seats and interior like some white trash Civic racer... (shocked) Yeah I went there. Anyone found any useless bolts or brackets? My only plans so far are a CF hood, losing the subwoofer rack, and that piece of metal above the muffler...it appears to be some kind of heat shield or something... (rtfm) Anyways...any advice would be appreciated.

Depending on what your doing with your car I wouldnt take too much weight out of the back......that rearend comes around too fast as it is in my opinion.
Every gallon of gas weighs .....(7lbs? something like that).....run on low tank of gas, the best weight savings in my opinion.

lol. I'm not saying your weight... unless you go around preaching weight reduction for your car. Then yes that's stupid. I weight 180. Before I ever spend a penny on any "lightweight" mod... I'll lose about 15lbs of fat. It's free... not to mention good for you

remove your exhaust from the down pipe back....or even the turbo back...but I dunno if that would mess with your back pressure or not. if it does, lose it from like where the first cat would be back. Get light weight rims.....they make a huge difference man, like huge. even though to the car it's only like a 10-20 pound difference in actual wieght, it equate to about 100-200 in resistance wieght, cause the motor has to spin the wieght, not just move it around. yeah, windshield washer fluid container, hoses, motor, wipers. but, that will only be a little wieght, the motor and fluid itself is the heavy stuff. All speakers and sub/mounting is a fair deal of weight. I dunno what else.

if you want to be serious about it don't consider it rice and remove those seats. it is a weight savings worth while. remove the headliner and carpet while you're at it. if you're not that serious about it stick with removing 1 or 2 lbs here and there and suck it up. :)

very bad idea on the msp with an internal wastegate, you will get boost spikes like nothing. and NEVER run open turbo on a street car unless you want to be sucking in all types of shit.

Replace the battery with a light weight unit like oddesy - about 15 pounds
Remove all padding and carpet from the trunk area - 8 pounds
Remove the radio and speakers - dont know maybe 30pounds
Replace seats with aftermarket ones -at least 20pounds
Get 15 inch light weight rims
Remove floor mats
When racing keep only 1/8 of a tank in gas

Yeah but I bet the glass weighs more. For that matter... if you don't ever use the back seat, just remove the doors, too. Sorry, I'm not normally a wiseass, but I couldn't help it. (rofl)

seriously though.....bolts and brackets?
how much weight are you hoping to save? and to what end?
the jack out of the trunk? are you noticing performance gains from that?
