I would STRONGLY reccomend a front mount and atleast a downpipe before upping the boost. other than that you'll be set w/ the colder plugs.
I suggest the FMIC and downpipe because with the increased boost comes increased heat and heat is the performance and combustion engine's devil. Since you'll be forcing more pressure into the engine, its a good idea to allow it to freely flow out as well. just my opinion, as this is the route I'll be taking.

I was wondering this same question. I already have my MBC from JoeP. I was going to put it in when I install my boost gauge with nothing else changed. Maybe I'll wait for at least colder plugs.

i recommend everything and never getting an mbc. there are several mods that should be standard before just upping the boost to get the vehicle ready, but hey thats just my opinion =p

Not even just upping it to ~9 PSI?

Yeah, what he said.
You can up the boost with just plugs and intake if you want... But it's not the safest thing for your car.
Here is what I did before finally purchasing a greddy profec b spec II and upping my boost:
1. FMIC
2. CAI
3. Turboback exhaust
4. Colder Plugs
5. Gauges
6. Misc other little things
THEN
I am upping the boost to about 8.5-9psi
After EMS and Internals here I come 12psi daily driven and 16-18psi at the track.

Ill agree, my goal is a daily driven, reliable 200hp mazdaspeed. Without upping the boost. I think 200hp will give me the extra boost in power that I want. I dont want breathtaking accelleration, just want to work out the kinks for a smooth steady ride.
