View Full Version : Mazdaspeed Pamphlet
Today I received a pamphlet on the 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. The pamphlet tells all the specs of the car and some nice pictures of it too. I just wanted to let everyone know that i received a pamphlet from mazda.

its the same pics and specs that are online. The pic i referred to as being a rear shot is the one you use as your "avatar" there.......they are the shots of the MS in that dark tunnel looking place.......

ohh.
i guess all the information is bascially given all out already through the internet...
I got one of these this week. Anyone notice that is says it has upgraded bushings?
I wonder....maybe newer bushings then say the mp3? I'm hoping this is how they are going to fix the infamous clunk because I've had every other fix done by MAzda, and none of it works.
They say upgraded bushings because they had to replace ALOT of them on the mp3. Like they say in programming.. "it's not a bug, it's a feature".
Will someone PLEASE scan this damn pamphlet?? Make it 300DPI please.
I would scan the pamphlet but I don't have a scanner. Sorry guys.
I'll scan it tomorrow at work. Look for it tomorrow sometime.

HaHa.... I can't imagine how excited and eager you are waiting for your new car. I remember when I had to wait like 2 days. It killed me.

hey...yeah i'm sure it's going to be at least another 6-7 weeks before i even hear anything from my dealer that it's near here or what not. I don't expect to even take delivery 'til mid-end of september.
Someone from Toronto Protege club said that they saw the MS-P on a highway and it's suppose to be at one of the dealerships right now.... i've never seen this car in person and i'd love to drive there to see what it is...but i hope it doesn't ruin my suspense if i do go see it. I just hope the Orange is 'love at first sight' colour!
how come you only had to wait 2 days for your car?
Maybe he ordered it 2 days before they expected the shipment.
These are scanned in at 300 dpi. And the image was compressed due to file size.
I scanned all of these in at 600 dpi as well. I have the MP3 brochure scanned, and I'm scanning the road and track magazine with the 8 best handling cars review in it as well. Not sure if anyone is interested in those as well, let me know.
Enjoy.
Because of the size of these, make sure to have IE6, or a program that will let you zoom out.
These are smaller versions
As for why I had to wait 2 days......
I never intended on buying a new car last year. When the new Protege 5's came out, I saw them, test drove, and fell in love with them. But, I was driving a 2000 Civic with like 20 000 kms on it and never really seriously considered getting another car as mine was still new. Then, my honda dealership started pissing me off big time. Basically, one day, they pissed me off for the last time, and I drove literally next door to Mazda, and was driving the mp3 not 48 hrs afterwards. And yes, I drove the mp3 off the lot, waved to the Honda guys and said LATER!
You see, when I went to Mazda to get a car, I went in to get eithier a ES or P5. Then they said something I'll never forget.....We can now get you an MP3, two just came onto the island not 8 hrs away. I said ORDER IT! It was put on a truck and sent to me that evening. I had to wait about a day and a half for the SLOW assed truck drive to get here, and then I had it. I was practically waiting on the dealership lot waiting for it.
If I had to wait months.....I'd go insane!
take care guys

Not to be picky or anything. can you put the book in PDF format...
so we can get a better lookey:)
Actually a PDF is easy, but getting it below the 512k size so I can post it here is not.
If you use a simple image viewing program that can zoom in and out, you'll be able to zoom into the scanned pics ( 300 dpi ones) and see every detail as plane as day.
Windows XP has a perfect viewer built right it that works. ACDSEE works, MS picture even works. Photoshop, paint shop pro....everything I've tried it with works fine. IE6 should resize the picture to fit inside your window.
Anyways, this is the best I could get it in pdf. I'm at work so I don't have a lot of time
If you ask me, the jpeg's are %1000 better and sharper to read. Heck, I can read the Racing beat logo on the small picture of just the wheel on back of the brouchure. If that ain't good enough...I give up.
Anyways, here's the crappy pdf , just unzip it.
Okay, well, if they put HALF the features they are talking about and the price is reasonable, I won't even think about switching. Let's recap, even if only for myself:
- exhaust shocks springs body kit, blha blah. big deal.
- Turbo :) :) :)
- 170hp target) with 160 torque
- 215 wheels :)
- LSD :)
Alot of :). But at this point, I was still somewhat undecided.
(sidenote: It's cool to know in canada it will be orange)
However, here's the stuff that's really surprising:
- anti-theft perimeter alarm system
- 11 INCH Rotors   with ABS!!!
ABS is an important feature which I really wanted in my MP3. Larger brakes, too. And as for the alarm, I had to flush 600CAD for my alarm system. It's great to know I may not have to do that again.
And let's hope the sound system is like they claim it to be.
however...
I'm not getting my hopes up quite yet.
Yeah, I found the same stuff interesting. Specially since I never got any alarm system at all with mine. I find it funny that it comes with abs now. Don't know how I feel about that. I've had it in most of my honda's. Can't say I really miss it on the mp3 in the winter at all. I wonder how much weight the abs adds :)
Just for kicks though, I did contact my dealership and see what it would take to trade mine in and get one. Doubt I'll actually do it, but if it turns out my monthy payments are near the same.....you never know.

Hey newf! :)
thanks a million for scanning that pamphlet for us/me
When Jay said that he received a 'pamphlet' i expected this to be a few pages. I didn't know he only meant a single page back and front. Oh well. I went to my dealer and they had this saved for me as well.
I noticed on the bottom on the 'pamphelt' that it reads
" Mazda Canada Inc., Suite 400, 35 Milner Avenue, Scarborough, Ontario etc...." when i read this, i knew this came from the dealership that i go to! What a surprise!;)
What i don't understand is that it says to 'visit us online at mazda.ca' . when you go to this website there's NOTHING there about the MS-P at all! :bs: :bs:
Pretty stupid for them to put it there...
On with a few questions about this 'pamphlet'...
1. What does the 'SAE' mean in the Target HP/ Target torque?
2. Under interior features it says: 'Anti-theft perimeter alarm system'.. What is this? We get an alarm system for this car?
Or is this just the alarm from the Mp3 stereo?
after all it is listed under the 'interior features'.
3. What's the 'scuff plate and tach' logo? I've never seen pictures of the tachometer with 'Mazdaspeed' written on it.
And is the scuff plate the alumiumn door sill ? As you enter the car after opening the door area?
4. "shortened shift lever" it reads... is this what they meant by short throw shifter? they write it as if it is shorten in height.
5. Never mentioned, but would you happen to know if the brake led on the spoiler is 'cleared'? or 'red'?
thanks a bunch!
:) :) :) :D
