i had purchased my speed 8 months ago and i have 14000 miles on it my rear tires were not properly alligned and because of this the inner part of tires are down to the metal thread shit.. The dealership where i bought car told me i was shit out of luck so i went to next dealer who helped me out they contacted their mazda Rep and explained that there was no way my tires got this bad in 2000 miles since the 12000 mile tire warranty was up they are meeting me half way on a whole new set of tires i am paying 475 for 4 of our re040 tires... and that counts allignment and tax.. i thank mazda for this..

Awesome! Glad to hear some dealers treat customers right. I still would have pushed farther to get them 100% covered....they were worn because of a mistake by them, not by you.

Oh in that case it's all good then. From your original post it sounded like all 4 tires were worn.

I'm going through a similar problem. Seeing the metal thread at only 10k and I don't drive this car hard at all... found out my alignment was out of wack too... going down to mazda tomorrow... (just wondering) did anyone get a firestone warranty included in their little packet book thing of papers when they first purchased their cars?

no the tires have a 12000 miles warranty ... they should cover as long as it isnt tire abuse :P like being able to tell they have been white smoked... :)

I got the same deal on my first set of SP9000's on my mp3... im still not sure why they wear so wierd.... my new tires are showing the same thing, but not as bad. A bunch of mp3 owners have had the same issues.

Just keep in mind guys, tires are not a normal thing covered by dealerships. I don't want a bunch of people getting burn out happy and then coming here to bitch when their dealership says "oh HELL no".

dealershipo already agreed to do it but now i find out a guy from near home has a set of 4 tires for 125.. 2 are alittle worn and 2 are nice and have nice tread..

I would put those $475 towards a better set of tires

Do you know if the RE50's are good? They are rated better than the RE40's?

Get Yokohama AVS ES 100s. :D
Grip better in cornering and in the straights than the OEM.

Cheaper too.

don't know, but I would not pay $475 for the same tires. They are better tires that don't cost much, have better grip and last longer.
