Ok, my rubber hose connectors on my piping keep coming off and leaving me stranded... i was wondering if they keep coming off because of my BOV??? Is the backpressure enough to blow them off? If so, I have a GReddy type S BOV and I noticed on it has a screw that says soft and hard. If i turn it more towards soft, will that kill the backpressure? I have to figure out how to take my bumper off tomorrow and hook it back up... I pray to God that is what is wrong.

What do you guys think about the ones on the orange one....

Do you think that would help?

i read in another post the other day..........
use hairspray on the ends of the piping.....then slide the connector on.....it will help seal it up nice.......

yeah, i heard that too.. Im just wondering if their is a bigger problem at hand however. Because if too much pressure is being caused, I would think that they will keep coming off.

Are the pipes beaded?

I dont know what you mean?

I did take my bumper off....and I tightened the connections.....My God they werent tight at all!

But now im wondering if i should turn the screw on the BOV towards soft?

Wow, I really thought there would be more feedback but whatever..

I fixed it and took pics of the piping that came loose. and the setup after

Well in the second picture i can see both pipes from the IC, did the one connected to the TB come loose?

Well in the second picture i can see both pipes from the IC, did the one connected to the TB come loose?Nope that one never came loose.. The one next to the BOV did originally but it hasnt since i tightened down a lot better. But last night the outlet of the intercooler came off. Im going to invest in spring loaded clamps that tighten as the temp gets hotter. Its a pain doing all that work tho... My hands are tore up!

So does anyone know about the screw on the BOV? I turned it toward soft but all that happened was the nut was really loose....So i assumed it was gonna fall off so i tightened it back up.

If you notice in that pic..you can see that the nut has like 1/8 of an inch before it falls off.. I just tightened it and now there is almost a full inch. thats kinda fucked up

i highly doubt its the pressure knocking the pipe off...did you install the IC yourself?

Nope. thats why im a lil frustrated. but if i find out why this is happening then i will be happy. So a BOV wont cause any backpressure or anything.... THey are comin off for a reason.

Maybe they are coming off from engine movement?

Something..

I just read that one other guy with this kit had one come off at the TB....so I cant figure it out... because I havent had an issue with that one. I thought about getting longer connectors but that would be hard as hell to get on the IC because they are so stiff and those are 45 degrees. I was an idiot an forgot to put adhesive on, but Im positive i hooked em all up nice and tight.....So if any of them come off, then there is a problem

What beaded means is that that should be a nice lip of material at the end of each pipe. What that lip does is help the connecttor stay on properly and prevent the connectors from slipping off the end of the pipes. Beading the pipes will help with the connecttors slipping off but it's always the same one poping off try using a hump connector. That will help with vibrantion and engine movement.

Ha Ha! Then you can use the turbo to blow dry your hair. While your at it, then match your nails to the color of your car (screwy)

I'm not enclosing the manufacturer of the kit, but if you were smart you would look at my sig ;). Everything is beaded on the edges of each pipe and even have a hump silicone hose for the IC > TB for engine movement, in which less implies to me because of the AWR motor mount fixes some of that.:D Mazdaspeeder00 I hope you find a solution to your problem. It sounds like your on the right track. Us FMIC proteges must stick together ;).

Vegas...I see what you mean...and what FMIC is that? And Nope mine arent beaded..Secondly what kinda connectors are those? They seem longer than mine.

Well I like i said i tightened the hell out of them and I took it out tonight.. I drove 30 miles interstate to my moms and babied it because i definently dont wanna have issues on the I. So when i got back to town i drove around and would jump it in 1st and shift so i could here the wonderful sound of my BOV. But i never really gave it hell until on my final lap. I was coming down a one way when a brand new altima with white tint and (blah) pulled up beside me. we were doing about 15-20....(perfect for 2nd) So i just dropped it and wow I couldnt believe my new power! Even though it was an Altima it still felt good! (crazy) But anyways I checked the piping when I got home and it all seems to be good still. But im still worried everytime i drive and that sucks ass!

The intercooler is the Ion FMIC kit that also comes w/ the kenetic silicone hoses and T bolt clamps. That's what I liked about kit because of the beaded edges, the clamps go on silicone hose behind the bead to keep it from slipping off the piping. Never tried the hairspray trick. But let us know the out come, if the hairspray or the different clamps solves your problem. Good Luck!:D
