"Massive noob"
Are you fat?
Anyways...do a search, and you'll find plenty of information.
You'll have a noticeable jump in power with Intake, Header, and Exhaust (I/H/E).
Major mods for the automatic are pretty much out of the question because the transaxle can't take a whole lot of power thrown at it. But basic bolt-ons should be fine.

yup. I'm a junior and I have a 03.5 P5. I have done basic upgrades so far... start w/an intake, maybe a mazdaspeed exhaust, daveBrings (search, you'll know what I'm talking about), tint, a kartboy... oh nevermind :D , ummmm.... and ya that should be good to get you started on What color is it? If you really wanna get ambitious and blow your money on your mom's car, get a nice set of rims and drop it about a 1" - 1 1/2" to eat the wheel gap... that will immediately set you apart from 90% of the rides on the road. The car will look waaaay better. Besides that just do what makes sense to you. You'll know what is out there as you continue to read up on the forum. I'm only a year ahead of you, so you can always ask me any questions you have and I'll always try and help you out. You'll come to find pretty much everyone is helpful though. Anyways see ya around!<O:p</O:p

hahahaha, umm, yeah, I say go intake, and exhaust(headers all the way back), umm, can't think of anything else really easy, but the intake/exhaust setup will be noticable, it was on mine, and I only had a catback, the headers will really help. Welcome mister n00b

welcome to the boards, im 16 as well, i'd say the first mods should start out easy, daveb rings or some appearance. performance mods would be a waste of money, maybe lowering springs and sway bars? but things like axlebacks/catbacks won't be of much help on performance, pm me if you have questions, i'd be happy to help

I'm 17 and I did a few looks and 1 performance mod but none of it really does much. I did it in this order: clear coat on paint, tint, carbon fiber altezza, DaveB rings and antenna, subs, then Mazdaspeed exhaust. My opinion is not to do anything unless it's ur car because most of these stuff I did is like a waste of money IMO

Umm..Most peformance mods..are going to make the car louder..especially an Exhuast..I would talk it over w/ your mom..since she will have to drive it as well!
But good starter mods..are:
Aftermarket Rims & Springs!
Tinted Windows
Nice Cold Air Intake to give you some nice top end!
also an cat back exhuast..one w/ a silencer..so when she needs the car..you simply screw in the silencer..and when you drive you just take it out!
Good Luck

Don't mod it you will have constant arguments with your parents (bicker) and you will get way to attach to the car which sucks because one day they can be like it's not yours or blame you for some thing you did to it, or maybe void the warranty on it. It's too much of a risk. Save up and get your own car so you can mod the hell out of it.
My personal advice to you is to ask her if the car will ever be truly yours like maybe down the road if she says yes than you can get an early start on modding the P5 (2thumbs).

Well thanks for all the help... one of the better forums iv been to. I think im going to start with a CAI then exhaust, i dont think im gonna do any of the looks stuff for a while, maybe when i buy it off her round the time of college ill do that stuff, but if i dont have her car to drive, i can always take the 91 Aerostar with the rusted out sides broken power windows ect.

For CAI purchase, go to www.protegegarage.com (http://www.protegegarage.com/). they have great customer service with very fast shipment.
I do recommend K&N Typoon system though, that way you can have both SRI and CAI :)
