Some Advice/questions answered about mazdaspeed....(help)

I’m really interested in getting a 2003.5 Mazdaspeed (Sunlight silver metallic) and I found a dealer somewhat close to my area and requested a price quote via email and I haven’t gotten a response. Until he emails me, I was just wondering how much would be to much to spend on the mazdaspeed. I noticed on the website the 2003’s listed as $19.980 and the 2003.5 are listed $20,480. Of course I’m not willing to pay full price, I’ve heard people pay anywhere from $16,500 to $17,500 for a 2003.5, is this true? (attn) $16,500 is like only 1600 more than what I paid for my ’02 protégé sedan ES, makes me wish I would of waited another year…(sad1) (bang) So if the dealer quotes me something higher I’ll assume he’s trying to rip me off?? How many 2003.5 are being made, are they limited production like the 2003’s? Are dealers trying to get these cars off there lots or what? Also, if I can get a good deal on a mazdaspeed, will installing a FMIC, a 3’ turbo back exhaust , Injen CAI, & turbo timer void my warranty? If I keep the stock boost levels the same, I’m I going to be alright or will the dealer give me shit? I think I read somewhere that installing the urethane motor mounts voids the warranty? Is this true? Sorry for all the questions, I appreciate those who respond to my thread. –Joe-

If you did any searching on the forum after you posted this you probably already answered all of your questions. If not I'll throw my .02 in.

17kish has been about average. know there was a $2500 rebate going on but I don't know if it's still available. I thought I remebered someone in Cali saying the prices had stagnated and maybe even gone up a tad. I would start low and work up. There are a whole bunch of car buying tips if you look on the internet. Basicaly don't show all of your cards when you walk up to the dealership.

All the different MSP's are limited production. The actual number seems to be indispute but I think around 1750 +/- 200 is about close. That is per year.

The bolt on mods voiding your warranty is kind of dependant on the dealership. It varys. I spoke to my dealership and they seemed OK with the FMIC and CAI but kind of shyed away from the TT. They don't like cut wires. I don't know. If you start messing with boost levels then you are definitely starting to play with fire. I haven't heard that about the motor mounts but you never know.

This probably didn't help too much. All the smart people are tired of answering the same questions so I would try a search for your questions. Good luck on your purchase.

My dealer installed AWR motor mounts for me and kept my warranty.
If something in your car breaks and the cause is traced back to the aftermarket product that was installed on the car, your warranty wont cover it. There are laws that allow you to modify your car I dont remember what its called but it was floating around the forum somewhere.

It's the Magnussen-Moss act of 1974 I believe.
