Hi, I'm new to this board. I was just wondering if anybody else has heard of this problem. Today, while coming off from stop light my car stalled when I tried to accelarate. All the lights came on including the CEL, and the car just died. I turned off the engine and re-started car. The car starts fine and there's no CEL. Just like nothing ever happened. I'm still cocerned so I take the car to dealership. The service rep tells me that since there is no CEL and the car engine sounds good there is really nothing they can check. But he thinks that my alarm system(non-stock) probably caused the problem. That they see this kind of problem quite a lot with non-stock alarm systems.
My car is an auto 2003.5 with just over 3600 miles.
I am no car guru but it sounded like you computer farted and reset itself. My Eclipse did that one time and it never happened again.

I had the same incidence with my car once. I had about 9000km on my car. The engine just stalled after a complete stop at a red light. I restarted the car and everything was fine. It never happened since. I don't have any alarm installed on my car but I do have an aftermarket engine immobilizer installed.
My car is sport auto 2003.5, currently at 9600km.

Ditto... happened once and has not happened again. Dealers like to place blame anywhere besides themselves (rant)
