oh man, I cant remember what they are called off the top of my head, I know what your are talking about though
as for problems just make sure your wires are in it all the way, otherwise you will end up with the connector stuck to the wire

can these "Wire Taps" cause the sensors to go bad?? i saw some issues with sensors going bad.. i think that only way would be if you cut the wire and splice them togather that way with these it would make it easier and much more professional i think.

That's what there are called! I'm not sure about the problems caused by tapping into the O2 sensor on this car but the only problems I have seen in the past is when someone splices into the insolated portion of the wire from the O2 sensor.

While wiretaps are easier, it's much less professional. Wire taps can and may work themselves off of the wires and then you're screwed. I'd highly recommend soldering the connections.

they are called Scotch locks and if done correctly they will work with no problem.I always reccomend soldering but i have hooked up piggybacks to the factory ECU on a few cars and have never had a problem.I have also done a few MAF conversions on pre '90 mustangs and have yet to have one connection go bad.One has been done for over 5 years now.Just make sure you get the right size for the wire you are using and seat the metal pin with a pair of channel locks or pliers good before snapping the cover closed.

It is ,but that is what everyone calls that style of connector so as not to get it confused with the many variations of "WIRE TAPS".
