Center console backlights.....custom?

has anyone ever taken apart the dash where your AC, Heater, and TEMP buttons are in the center dash?


I remember back when i had my camaro that the red backlights behind all the instrumentals and switches were just a color film that gave them their color when the lights were turned on.


I was wondering if that is the same with our cars? i would like to customize that if that is possible. Most cars just have a colored film w/ a white bulb behind it.


If this is the case..... is it the same for the speedo, tach, gas, etc clusters?

dexter took apart his entire dash and the controls are still apart..

in the ES/MSP/MP3 they are clear bulbs with a plastic orange sheeting.

So, all you have to do is take off the orange sheet and swap it for the color of your choice? Assuming the P5 is the same of course.....
