he's out of them... and he's not making anymore. and people like mach turbo or whatever the idiot's name is kinda sealed the deal with that one. the whole "blah blah me, blah blah me, blah blah me me me" tone that dave was getting in PM's and emails from various people turned him off big time. that and he was sick of working 10 hours a day, then having to go back to work to run the rings for another 4-6 hours and getting almost no return from the prices he was selling it at kinda didn't make any sense. there are a lot of reasons why he's not making anymore, so yeah....

i wasn't gonna say anything, but this really is starting to piss me off. you pm'ed dave on january 10, the same day he announced his group buy. the group buy ran for quite some time (a little over 2 weeks)... if in that time you were too stupid to put your name on the list like over 100 people did, well, i can't really do anything for you. what makes you think you are so special?

and that whole thing about putting your name first on the list for extra sets? have you ever considered that the people who didn't pay ended up paying? so there WERE NO EXTRA SETS?

and when things are a two man operation and there are over 100 PM's a day, things are bound to happen. i'm sorry you fell through the cracks, but shit happens and you deal with it. if your name was on the main GB list, you would have gotten your rings.

and no one said you forced dave out of business... it was just in recent days, he's been getting less than nice PM's about how people didn't get "their" rings. well, he's out. deal with it. and he's not gonna make any more. dave's decision to leave the ring-making business is a wise one. he didn't NEED the money. he wanted to do something nice for this community, and when people started being nasty, that's when it loses its point. why do you think the prices were so low? he could have charged much more for it. why do something nice for a community who chastises you for not being there to serve them hand and feet?

If one pissed customer shuts down his business, then it was on the way out on it's own. I dont' even want them anymore. I don't care if I was the first or the last on the list for extras, I just wanted to know that he realized I existed. I don't have enough time in the day to search through every god damn forum to find the exact one I need to see. If the group buy was going on, why didn't he tell me about it? you are the first person i have ever heard complain about dave's service. EVER! i did not participate in the group buy because but i bought some from him already.

i had my rings within 3 days of initial contact with dave and is wife. they emailed me with every step of the process too--> the order confirmation, paypal receipt, ship conf, and to check to see if i received them.

i am in no way trying to bash you, yet i am not gonna sit here and read about you or anybody else bashing people who come out with products for our cars.

i've been waiting for a hood i bought from a member of this board since the beginning of oct '03. i finally got tired of waiting for it so i asked for a refund, which i haven't received yet and it has been almost 4 weeks. you don't see me posting about pissed i am that i haven't gotten my money back yet.

life is a bitch, we all know that, deal with it and try to resolve the situation in a civilized manner.

im gonna have to jump in here and say the boddes have some of the BEST customer service and shipping times ON EARTH. when i ordered mine, dave said he was currently out and i said no hurry - i still got them sat and i ordered on tuesday.

Holy shit this thread got out of hand. I thought Dave only temporarily stopped making the rings...I'm sad to hear they're completely out of production. It's a shame that things had to work this way....now both Joe and Dave are gone just because of a few bad apples ruining it for everybody else.

Maybe Dave will consider making up another batch of these babies...maybe not. I don't blame him for not doing it, because the maturity level of so many people on the boards is somewhere down
