Hey all. Got a question. Ive installed Unorthodox Underdrive pulley and also installed new pair of Gates belts, and one of my belts squeeks when I start the car for like 2-3 seconds then stops squeeking. Is that normal or I have to do something else?

Is that normal or I have to do something else?Oh shit you had the same problem I had with my Unorthodox underdrive pulley the problem is that the UD pulley is a lot smoother than the stock pulley and since it rotates quicker it tends to slip of the belt. I had that annyoing sound it was horrible my car sounded like a POS it only stopped after I drove for like 5 min. I finally figured out that it was when my a/c was on that the noise would last the longest anyway when I took my car in for an oil changed I told the tech to inspect all my belts and pulleys he tighten everything up and from that day on my pulley has been worken perfectly and has'nt made any noise since.

BTW.. check the tension and make sure all the pulley's and belts are tight.

Alright, I tightened the A/C belt. Hope it wont squeek anymore

Make sure not to put to much tenson on the alternator, i've seen one fly apart when the main shaft snapped. little magnet chunks everywhere!

Heh, thanks for advice bro. I called dealer today and they asked if I installed the pulley myself or it was installed under the warranty. I said under warranty and then hung up after he gave me the time to come in. Well since he asked that I just changed my mind of going to the dealer for that crap. I just went to the local garage and guy retightened the belts and there is no more SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!
Im happy woohoo. (rockon)

Good move man. Glad to see everything worked out. I'm also glad to see you didn't take it to the dealership. Bye, bye warranty.

Did you see any improvement with the UDP pulley? If so where and when?

Yea man, thanks alot for the pulley!! Im glad myself that I didnt take it to the dealer. Well If they would cancel my warranty i would sue their asses away because they cant cancel warranty untill that aftermarket part actually causes something. I like the pulley alot!

Macey: I see an improvement in low end torque. switching between 1st and 2nd gears definetly much better than before. No more bogging when accelerating in 2nd gear. Its smooth as babys buttom, hehe.

P.S. GOT MY SHORT SHIFTER INSTALLED, Kooldino helped me out with it. THANKS KOOLDINO!!!!!!

your problems may not be gone just yet. U may have the belt slip totally when under heavy alt. load and or while wet or cold... make sure u warm it up before hand or it will make an ungodly sound... sounds like using the gates belts didnt help any either.
