Dude no friggin way ! 190 for ONE light, what a rip off. Someone with a 2003 non .5 chime in here. Personally I would take the good one out and start bringing it to some stores. Autozone, Pep boys...etc, see what matches up.

Patience Young Padawan.
I think PIAA makes a housing that will fit the Speed/P5/MP3
Check it out (also measure the diameter of the lens)
Also check the for sale section.. sometimes people sell the stock fogs
Happy Hunting....
Oh I forgot! There are numerous on line web dealers that sell OEM lights for the protege. www.google.com (http://www.google.com) :D

No worries. In answer to your question. Yes there are after market foglights you can buy for a hell of a lot less than $190 that with some fabrication will replace your stocks and look just as good if not better. There are two different members on here who sell either brackets or a light kit with brackets that fit into the factory locations. Just doing a search for foglights produces threads like this:

As for appearance here's how my pilot foglights look. I just bought the kit and replaced my factory with a little creativity. No brackets or kits needed.

Here's a side by side comparison of my new fogs and my friends spicy orange with the factory.

sorry, didn't mean to start panicing. just getting off work in a little while and wanted to stop by autozone with something to work with. thanks for all the info.
i did search, alot, and did see those lights, infact still got the website up contemplating an order. but not exactly sure about wanting angel eye look. was really concered if i went to autozone and bought something the same size if i was going to run into any bracket fitting problems. so you think i'll be ok with stock bracket??

Piaa 540 ion lamps. They make a driving light and a fog light in this style. Im getting the Fogs... They sell kits which include lamps, harness, relay, switch.. I think for something like 170-180.. i think...

Whether or not you can use the stock brakcets depends a lot on the size and design of the fog. The angel eye ones I bought worked well because they were 5 & 1/8" where as the factory are about 5 & 3/4" So, I was able to slide them inside the factory housing and with a little drilling they bolted up. BTW you can use those pilot fogs and just not connect the angel eye part. It's a seperate harness completly. I hardly ever turn my angel eye part on. Oh and since they were only like $65 you can't argue with the price.

vodapas77: no arguing here. that's a good idea. those pilot fogs connect directly to the stock wiring harness too?

In terms of wiring the bulb, I think all I had to do was clip the negative line on the Pilot foglights and splice it to the negative on the factory harness. That was just because the negative line on the Pilot light was soldered to the light. All in all the project took me like one afternoon. Not too intensive.
I'll have a set of oem p5/msp/mp3 very shortly. Brand new. Brackets, wires, everything except switch. I'm selling.
They were back ordered, hence why I don't have them. I need to go to the dealer tomorrow and find out wtf is going on. I've been waiting for these for months.
