Exhaust opinions for 2000 Protege DX

I am looking to replace my stock exhaust and header. Please reccomend anything you can to help, Thanks.

Possibly the JIC exhaust, if it fits that would be my choice, Im not sure if it fits on the 2000 pro though.. Mazdaspeed axle back is a good idea also... AWR header.. essential speed also has a header out.. you can always do a custom catback from a muffler shop with any universal muffler somehwere between 2 1/4 and 2.4 inch piping ... how big is your motor... hopupracing.com has a wide array of universal mufflers...

Yeah get the JIC it sounds really nice. If you are tight in budget just purchase an Apexi N1 and do custom installation.

I dont know where to get the JIC exhaust but I'm sure someone in this forum can tell you where to get the best deal and about the AWR headers I dont think that they make them for your car. And if you are doing custom work get 2.25 inch pipping.

I have a Bosal Exhaust and I think it has a pretty good sound. It gets loud at times, but if that is your thing, than I would recommend it.

Question: If you get a Header for the 1.6L, does that mean the Cat is removed? (Isn't that illegal)
