Sub vibration

Hey!

Thought I would share this to see if it will help anyone else. For a while I have had a vibration from the sub area, but could not or would not take the time to locate it. At least in my case, the vibration was a result of the amp being fastened with the 4 screws, which were there and tight, but since the amp was right up against the plastic sub housing, the area(plastic sub housing) under the amp was vibrating against the amp.

I removed the amp, put some strips of fairly compressable adhesive backed foam (left over from a 944 turbo, don't ask) then refastened up and no more unwanted vibration!

Well they finally got my sub in it was on order for about 6 months when I pick it up this afternoon I will make sure it is not rattleing thanks for the info.(msptitani

If im not mistaken they are supposed to be a new kind of sub also.....I had my 8 replaced right after i bought it cuz it blew....and they shipped a newer version. (uhm)

If you have a stock 8 inch sub your vibration is coming from the amp, slide a piece of dynamat under the amp and screw it back on. If you have a system such as two twelves (2thumbs) , it is coming from three main areas. Your back dash that has NO 6X9's (it vibrates off the car and rear window). Where your chairs fold the back dash has a piece of plastic that is connected to the rear of your car. Lastly, the annoying wing and trunk. I had to trash my cd player cause it skips everytime my system hits. It sucks, anyway, i am trying to post up some pics you can catch them later. peace....
