I know theres been lots of threads about this, but I am having second thoughts about installing a Cold Air Intake. I live in Michigan where the weather can get pretty nasty and the way i understand how the Injen CAI is installed the filter is exposed to the weather above or in front of the wheel well on the otside of the car. Is there a problem with the intake then picking up too much water, snow, and dirt due to this. Any pictures showing where the filter is actually located or info telling me otherwise is greatly appreciated.

Before you read, this is for the P5...
I don't have any pics to show you, but I can try to help with my knowledge. The filter does sit pretty low down, but right below it is the undercarriage flap where the bumper is and also the wheel well piece that prevents water from getting to the filter. Although, in front there IS a small opening where most of the air comes in, but not enough during rain for it to get the filter soaked and cause problems. The only way for you to mess up your engine is to be in a HUGE puddle sucking up the water, and/or snow building up inside the front bumper where it will actually melt and get into the filter.
Hope someone else can add to this.

Have tried researching an AEM bypass valve that goes on your CAI to prevent water from getting sucked into your Engine.

i wouldn't recommend the AEM bypass valve... there's a thread about it. Apparently they rip VERY easily because of the stress on the intake from the engine. If you're worried, get it anyway, just be aware that it might break quickly
