Car feels good! Need to do more testing though. It's about 44deg right now. Going to be colder tomorrow and the day after. I'll see how it goes.

With your mods (fmic & cai) 9psi should feel pretty good.

Get an exhaust and you'd see some pretty significant gains.

9psi should be a nice jump....

oh btw my clutch is a little bit stiffer then yours, but your 1-2 shift is 5x smoother then mine :(
Also it sounded like you BOV was opening b4 letting off the gas... maybe it was your wastegate though...

sweet ride though (thumb)

You noticed that also? But if the BOV was opening b4 the throttle was closed than I wouldn't be building boost no? It could be just the air rushing through the pipes.

I was running 9psi before the winter and took of the controller for the winter. Now I decided to put it back in just because I was bored with the car hehe and wanted to see what would happen as far as the fuel cut goes. I'm not sure if my car is flashed, because I still have a hesitation from 4-5.5k rpm even though I went to two different dealerships and supposetly had the car flashed twice. I saw one of the dealerships actually perform the flash, atleast that's what I looked like, a guy in the car with a little computer type device.

It didnt look like you were loosing boost... yet i heard the hiss of the BOV..

I did feel the hesitation though, it felt like your off boost betwen 4000-5500rpm's

Did you take it to redline?

PaulMP3

probally about 6k... boost built real fast, then i felt it die out a lil. (now i understand the msp hesitation)

i took it real easy on it, and only went .5 miles...

I really miss how quiet my car use to be...i need to remove my awr rear mount.

next time you and Akhilleus get together to mess around with your cars, pm or Im me so we can meet up.

Anytime :) SO your car got louder with the rear AWR mount?

PaulMP3
02-24-2004, 12:06 AM
hell yea... the rear mount made the inside cabin noise much louder.. Im sure a lot has to do with my exhaust, but the mount really increases the noise inside.. Im hoping to get all 4 mounts replaced shortly with something harder then stock, but softer then the awr's... They feel great during spirited driving, but during daily driving the awr annoy me.

did you replace your rear mount with the filled one yet??

CustomMSP

Paul you know that you can get softer bushing from awr for your existing mounts right? There was a thread not too long ago with a review. Check it out. No I didn't do it yet. Washed my car today though.

PaulMP3

yea i was about to order the softer ones for the awr's.. but i might be able to get a deal if i test the set of 4 motor mounts being release shortly that sxvin is working on getting made... The rear is a PITA so i didnt want to put the awr ones in if i have to remove it again.

Which mounts did you buy? front and rear... or all 4.. who did you buy them from?

I got the side engine mount front and rear from lamp3. It looks like the urethane is cracking already in the side mount. The front I can't really see. But if I put the rear one in, they shouldn't crack because of equal stress distribution?

PaulMP3

That is who i thought you got them from. When you filled the mounts did you fill them all at once or in a bunch of layers? If you filled them all at once that might be why they are cracking. I think there is a how to: on putting window weld in your mounts.
I think 3 mounts will be a lot better then just the front and back.. some time i can still get wheel hop and it feels like my motor is shaking bad. This is why i'm gonna go with all 4 to see if that stop it.

I used a different material than window weld. I don't like window weld. I used liquid urethane instead. It's liquid went you mix it but become hard as it dries.

Thanks! Car is def. much faster part throttle because of the wastegate staying closed longer and not interrupting exhaust flow until it opens at around 8.5psi. :D No boost cut at about 40deg today either. I think the maf isn't reading fast enough or something where it's placed. Gonna try to get the car dynoed soon. Found a place not too far. TurboTrix...These guys have about 5 DSM a WRX and a 300ZX they're currently working on...I was like WOW. Two Evos outside pushing about 350whp each and met a guy named Phil next door with a yellow MSP as well :) Told him about the board and talked for a little bit.
