View Full Version : Popping from rear suspension...
I do have "the klunk" and I am scheduled to get new bushings but I wanted to know if this was related or not.
I washed my car the other day. Got her looking all nice and purdy. I pull into the garage and go about my business. I come out in the morning (temp is cool) and as I start to reverse I get this loud ass pop from the rear suspension as something was locked up. I took a look underneath and did not see anything out of whack. This happened twice during the winter but I thought it was just the water freezing up overnight. This morning it happened again but it was not very loud at all.
Has anyone experienced this? Has this been discussed and I just missed out on it? Does anyone know what I am crying about?

I have this on my P5 but no idea what it is. It sounds like something moving around in the back but all I have is the subs. Usually happens when turning. Anyone else?

I have heard this sound before and have been wondering what it is also. I just assumed it had something to do with the car settling.
For me it seems if the car sits overnight wet I get it when I first reverse and no other time.

Sounds like the e-brake rusting to wet rotor...no problem it's perfectly normal.

Ahhh I bet this is the case. I'll try leaving the e-brake off.

Exactly..happens to me a lot, especially when cold...or maybe just because it was snowy so the rotors rusted.
Ok. Cool. I will try no e-brake and see how that works out. Thanks all.

Definately not the problem i am having. This is not a bouncy sound or have anything to deal with the e-brake i don't think. A loud knock on wood is more like the sound. It happens when i ride over bumps.

I just got my new bushings a week ago and they are great...get your ass to the dealer(nana)
edit: oops, I didn't see you had a P5...do those come with rear sway bars? I'm guessing they do, so it is probably your bushings as well.
