I heard that you can use the oil filter from a Honda Accord with the V6. It has a larger filtering surface.

Just get a Purolater Pure One or a K&N Gold oil filter in the proper size and be done with it.... I'm not a fan of taking risks, especially where oil is concerned.

your not lying Puckpimp71, you don't want to mess around and have the turbodsm problem of the damn oil filter backing off, due to boost pressure.....

no, you use the filter from a MAZDA6, if you're going to do anything other than get a good filter. I would suggest just using a K&N or a Bosch Premium (or just the Mazda OEM filter is supposed to be good) and using the proper size. if you do go bigger then make sure to add more oil as well.

no, you won't get any HP from it (headshake

edit: feel free to search for things like this with the "search" button. just type in a generic set like 'oil filter' and you'll get much more information.

i use a wix filter that is twice the size of the one listed for my car. it is the next number up, dont know it off the top of my head. With that filter it holds exactly 4 qts of oil so there is no .3 left over.
