Spark plugs (Platinum or Iridium)

Anyone out there installed Platinum or Iridium spark plugs? Please tell us if they made a difference (performance and fuel consumption)

From everything I've ever read, don't waste the money. Buy the regulars. Platinum isn't much of a conductor, but it looks good on jewelry. It doesn't even compare to the standard, except the markup is much better for the manufacturers.
Go with a good NGK plug and you'll be fine.

Is the electrode in a regular spark plug made of graphite? If it is, I just found out it's electrical conductivity is nearly 5 times the one found in Platinum and Iridium. So you're right, won't spend the money on this.

graphite? no. they are some steel alloy, not sure which one.

platinum is actually used because it is more resistant to wear. my wedding band is platinum because we didn't want yellow gold, too cliche. and white gold wears out faster. platinum is very hard, and should last us forever.
