Yeah new here, I have been wanting the new mazda 3 but to get the one i want its going to be 18k and i wont have any money to mod it so that would really suck because i seriously cannot drive a stock car. But i have found several P5's with very low miles for 13k-14k leaving me with a lower monthly payment and with money to mod it :) so i think i made the better choice.
I will put the mazdaspeed springs and shocks on and then buy a turbo kit of some sort and keep it sorta sleeper for a little bit and then buy the dg motorsports wide body and a few exterior pieces.
better than having a stock 3 in my book even though i still love the new 3
edit: whats a good turbo kit btw??

better than having a stock 3 in my book even though i still love the new 3Not big on the FS-DE's but from what I've read the rods are weak. If you really want to have some fun with that turbo, it'd be best to build the motor. Which costs you down time, a warranty, and a running car. Also, what's the point of making payments on a car that you have to modify. Just buy a different car.
Something else to think about is a 96-00 Civic hatch. You'll have the hatch/wagon thing down. They can be had for 4500-7000 and still have plenty of money for a better motor. You start with a lighter car, double wishbone, Honda aftermarket....

Ah, the PR5, crappy motor mounts, harsh cold starts, bad gas mileage, weak rods, wierd shuttering tranny shifts when cold, no aftermarket...yeah. But it handles neat, has a cool interior, nice sun roof, and looks great.

and motor mounts cost how much? i get 32mpg @ 85mph...most people go with forged rods anyway...i don't have any shift problems...and the "no aftermarket" bs. that's what separates honda owners from mazda owners...we actually have to work at what we do...you can go open a JC Whitney catalog and get tons of shit for your car...hondas are for people with no imagination.

I think the FS-DE is great, if it's built.

i wouldn't worry about forged internals unless you're running more than 8psi. juan (hiboost) ran 14psi (not daily) on stock internals with no problems...you can get forged rods for around 700...it's all up to you.

the mazdaspeed was put together wrong to begin with...you can't judge a p5 on that shit.

I rebuilt my own motor and installed a supercharger. But i guess that's not work for hardcore Mazda owners right?(laugh)
Anyway, back on topic....
There was a group buy for JE rods and pistons with wrist pins for about $1200. Too bad it ended or I'd have jumped all over it.

well, since this car takes too much work and $$ for you, sell it and get another honda...and be like every other 16 yr. old out there.

Somebody hates our cars. But I don't hate it that's why I bought it.

BTW.. The P5 is an awsome car to hook-up but most people don't take the time or $$$ to do it they go for the easy shit and hook-up a honda, That's why I like the P5 it's different not like every car out there and since they stopped production in 2003 it's even cooler now(nana)

no aftermarket...yeah.
!!! WHOA. I think the aftermarket for this car is amazing coming from a Mazda Truck. Also the community is awesome too.. It's nice to have a unique car, who wants a civic anyways? (i don't have the car yet, will tomorrow morning, so i'm just assuming that it's nice to have a unique car).
Even my sisters 3g eclipse gt... aftermarket isn't too great at all, and the community is full of dumb ricers who all put chrome altezzas and aluminum wings on their car.. ugh

There isn't much of an aftermarket for that car, and there's a reason!(evil)
