It seems classes are going to be cancelled tommorrow due to snow. I didn't want to drive my mp5 in the snow the last couple of times since it was still so new and sparkly, it still is, but I dont wanna be stuck in my dorm tommorrow. Does anyone know how this car handles in the snow? Any tips for staying in safe limits? I've got the autostick. Also, the roads here have a lot of twisties, as well and uphills and downhills.
Any tips for driving in these conditions? Or should I just stay in and be bored out of my mind and maybe pick up drugs again?

well I'm not at home anymore, where my p5 is always garaged. So it's going to be outside anyway.

I'm one of those bastards that prefer someone else to try something stupid, before I do.
ie: A lot of cops in ny drive taxi cabs. So when I see one on the highway, I slow down to speed limit, then wait for some ricer to weave and speed past it. If he gets pulled I drive by slower and laff, if not I say f*ck it, and speed.

i drove in the colorado rockies under full boost in sleets of rain and slick ice on well worn tires. as long as you drive within the limits of conditions this car has proven to me to be a capable performer.

FWD in snow is the best compared to RWD and snow! You should be fine, just don't go crazy! Allow more stopping time than your usual, and don't cut turns fast at all...
I LOVE THE SNOW, but we didn't get CRAP here in philly!

If you get lots of snow, invest is snow tires, the cost will offset the possible increase of insurance if something were to happen.
If you are in the city, and get a little snow, then just take it easy.
This car handles very well in the snow..

And avoid the mistakes of other members...shift out of first at 2000 rpm -- if the wheels still spin, try starting in second gear. Then shift at 3000 rpm after that. You want to keep the revs low to stay out of the power band -- the point is to get where you're going, not set a world speed record.

Agreed. Very good point.
I've never had any problems with my car in the snow.. just be a smart driver and you shouldn't have any problems either.

i used to have a scooby so im used to that...thats why i say it.
and when u live in SLC and there is +1ft of snow on the ground the only cars that are out have AWD/4WD...if ppl have FWD or RWD they dont even bother driving there cars becouse they dont want to get stuck.
