I would really appreciate your feed back guys. I live in CA and during the winter it gets down to almost 20 degrees at nights and sometimes in the morning my remote unlock doesnt work and I have to use the key. Has anyone else had this problem. I had an alarm installed and they said its the actuators that are in the doors that they freeze and get to hard so initially they dont work. BUT I think they're dumb asses cuz' the originally f***ed up my alarm! SO thank You please respond asap.
Usually it happens when its around 30 to 40 degrees and has a thin layer of moisture on the car.

Yeah it happens. I'm not sure about the Proteges, but when I lived in Michigan and it dip into the 20's my Civic wouldn't unlock. A lot of other car models had that problem in Michigan too. But that's Michigan for ya.

I live in Wisconsin and last winter it got down to 20 below and stayed well below 20 degrees for weeks (20 degrees would have been considered a heat wave)
Anyways, I never had a problem with my keyless entry.
When this happened, did your power locks work from inside the car. If they did, then I would say the keyless system is messed up.

Oh yeah, I have had this problem here even in Texas with my MP3. I too have an alarm system.
well, I live in NF Canada, and we have some of the coldest winters in Canada. 20 below is a joke. Never had any troubles with the locks on my car.
I did on my old Civic, and prelude though.

i live in MO, and it does get cold here. normally under or around 20 degrees this winter, and i have never had a problem. door locks worked, car started fine. but i would have to say that the dunlops suck during ICE storms, it was fun sliding (not driving) to work.
I haven't seen them stick or not work but I have noticed now and again the keyless will make a terrible groning noise when unlocking.

Dude they fu ked up your system by putting the alarm in.... I brought my car up to Timmins in Canada.. 8 hours NORTH of Toronto.... that's for who ever knows where To is.....
It went to minus -45 degrees Celsius with the wind chill... that is -113 degrees F..... don't tell me about cold..... and my power locks work fine with the remote... not a problem.....
