Women always twist it to make you the fuck up. There was probably another reason for what happened.

Dude I have to agree here with Replica. Even though some women are different, most of them dont like the idea of their guys spending time on a hobby that they love. They want you to spend every living day with them, and putting up with their bitching and complaining. If your not a slave to the p***y then they think something is wrong.

Case in point, I had a 1992 Toyota Supra Turbo. It had targa tops, leather interior, pearl white paint, digital everything. Best part, it was paid off! My old girl started to go off at me because I loved to drive it. Every day complaining and complaining. I got so tired of it, that I was about to leave her ass. But being in the military, it wasnt a good idea. Youll be paying up the ass for support, and the Marine corps always takes the womens side. So, after al this BS went on, I finally gave up and traded it in. You know for what? A fucking Sentre SE 1994. The biggest POS on earth. And to make the punch even worse, they gave me only 1,900 fot my car. I had paid over 10.000 for it about 2 years earlier.

You know what happened after that? She got pregnant with someone elses kid while I was serving in Japan. And when I got back, I let her ass go. But I was stuck with the sentra.

Let your girl do as she wishes, they always do. But dont let go of your car, it will never put you in second place.

Yikes, and I thought I got it raw.

If a girl you're with can't respect your hobbies, then fuck it. Obviously if you're obsessive that's different but it just sounds like you had a healthy hobby. If she wants attention and someone to entertain her ass, then maybe she should marry a fucking clown.

I put my girl before my car, then she cheated on me and I was stuck with an untuned boosted car. And we all know what happens to untuned cars... (headshake

1st off..ur car is sweet...but anyways....i agree with the other guys...

you should not have to get rid of your car for the girl...you need to find someone who will appreciate your hobby...doesnt mean she has to be into cars too (guess that would be a plus) but just understands and allows u to do what u want w/ur car (of course if its leading u to bankruptcy..thats a diff story)

anyways, some girls just need to understand the world does not revolve around them and that every waking moment that she has will not be spent with her guy - and that guys are not gonna give up their whole lives to be with them...

good luck for the future and be glad this happened now, and not after u were married or somethin, b/c it was obviously bound to happen

Joka, dude - I am really sorry to hear about this. Still, if you love cars - that is great. Find a girl who can either deal with it, or appreciate you for it. I believe Babygirl is recently single - though currently seeing someone. She is all about the cars. Actually there are quite a few girls on here that are all about the cars. Just a little harder to find them in real life. But I can assure you that they do exist.

Besides - if you think that is hard, try this: I'm looking for a cute girl with a tight body. I want her to have a good sense of humor, be well read - and still be able to handle going out and partying or just hanging out at home. As an aside I would like for her to have some geek capacity herself, or the ability to understand general computer concepts such as RAID and ECC Memory. On top of all that - I'm also the type of guy who likes to have fun 3-9 times a night.

I've still managed to find a few girls who met most of my criteria - at least enough for me to date them for a while.

Plenty of fish in the sea, just not enough hours in the day.

I don't even chase them anymore, bound to hit a wall sooner or later. They can come to me if it really matters.

I dont hate your car.

The thing with most women is that they dont like to share their attention with anything else..especially a car. Back in the day before I got into my car I hated the fact that my ex was always out messing with his car or mudding. Mostly because he would stand me up for the damn thing, but also because it took his time away from me.

To be blunt if she wasnt able to understand the bond you have with you car then she wasnt quite worth it. I totally understand that you love her and all but she should understand your hobby.
Like everyone else said dont give up on the car thing. I say Im going to give up on it all the time myself because it isnt quite the girliest hobby to have but I look at it and I see myself, it is an outlet for when I am happy sad or otherwise. It is there for me to do something to, to lift my spirits and ease my mind. If you cant have a hobby that you can truly enjoy that can take you away from your problems or at least ease your mind to help you think through them better then your life will not be as enjoyable.

It is your life. When you hit bottom the only way to go is up. Might seem hard at first but remember you are in total control of where you go from there.
-Good Luck and keep your head up

I hate to say this... and coming from a girl, it's doubly offensive. YOUR CHICK IS WAY OUTTA LINE!

Secondly, not all of us girls are so stuck on being number one that we don't want our guys to have other hobbies. I personally have my own hobbies and want to find someone who has his own, too. That way I know he's not insecure and overly needy.

Dude, find yourself a chick who understands. We're out there! *runs out and snuggles with her pro before bed* You should see me baby my car when it's time for washing!

I loathe women who are so commandeering of their guys' time. It gives the real women a bad rep. I gotta say, if I ever met a guy who got jealous of my relationship with either a. my pro or b. my band, I would be questioning his man-hood pretty seriously.

And goddamn, Victor Webster (Mutant X) is f-in HOT!!!! I wonder if he'd appreciate a chick who plays in a band and digs cars... (yes)

your car is material. Your girlfriend is a person. A real live living, breathing, talking thing. When your car dies, there is a high probablity your gf will be next to you when it happens.

I have been going through this whole struggle with my girlfriend as we speak. The way i see it, the car is a material possesion that helps us men (and select women) raise our ego, make us feel big about our car to other people. I dont think i would chose my ego over my girlfriend that i love so much (but i have and it makes me sad.)

Essentially, in order to maintain any lasting relationship in your life you will have to compromise in one form or another. You cant just drop your gf or bf if they dont agree that you will be spending 25K on putting NOS and sparco in your car. (especially if you dont have the means to do so!)

Basically i believe my hobby has in spme ways ruined my relationship with my girlfriend and i couldnt apologize more to her, but it is somethin that i like to do. But when it gets to the point where you are neglecting her because of it (hard to see sometimes) then it has gone to far. I will choose love over ego any day but it is just very hard sometimes for people such as myself (car tuner addict).

Talk to her; ask her what it is that bothers her the most, (ie the time, the money etc) . If you truly love her, then you will be willing to meet halfway or sacrfice a bit )ie not car shows every weekend but everyother weekend etc).

Give of your self a bit. Dont let selfishness take over and you will be happier, i guaruntee. Your gf loves you (even though she may be a bit naggy at times). Love her back and curtail your hobby a bit.

This is what i hope to do. Hopefully it works!

Well, if you look at his first post, he said he'd get rid of the car for her and it still wasn't enough. Some women just like to make us feel like ass for no reason and leave.

yeah i didnt read it all the way through... anyways i think everyone needs to be understanding of everyone. If she was not willing to compromise then i dont think that is right.

Considering the time and money you spent on the car, I don't see hos this was an area of not compermising on her part. Obviously we don't know the whole story but no women will take kindly to being brushed off for a peice of metal. If you want to be in a relationship at all you have to relize the needs and wants of the other person, and women want time. Even if you find a girl that likes working on cars, she will still want time away from it.

I would reccomend avioding another relationship until you know and can accept how much time a relationship actualy consumes. In the car audio trade we basicly call someone like your fiance a "Car audio widow". This shit happens alot especialy when building a show car. The time spent is insane and the workshop + equiptment cost over $100K. Women don't tend to accept that stuff easily.

Hey, I like your car.
I say keep on doing what your doing. A women who truly loves you will also love your hobbies. I have a protege and a 323 .. Ones getting a turbo and the other is getting NOS. Don't worry you will find a women who will love you for who you really are..

Also, girls do know more then some guys. I heard this one time. Some dude went to best buy and wanted to do some mods to his car. And the clerk was asking what type of car he had. Dude kept on saying "MAZDASPEED!" "MAZDASPEED!". Clerk was confused. And his girl came up and said "He has a PROTEGE!". man i was rolling. lolol. dude looked like an idiot. Sorry had to lighten to mood. :D Heard it from this one guy from the meet we had last week. (cryhard)

i am so happy that my wife understands my love for the p5. she gets a little irritated when i constantly talk about what i want to do to next, but all in all, its balanced. this is what you need to find. you need to make time to fill the emotional and physical needs of the woman you are going to be with, but also find time to do what you love to do. if you find a balance she will begin to support you more when it comes to your car because she wont feel like she isnt your priority. you need to put your partner first, not your car. loving your car is one thing, loving it more than your partner is another.

She may not be in to cars like you. It's okay to not have everything in common, but if it is something you have a passion for, there are a lot of girls out there who are also in to their cars. Just try and find some one with similar interests. I wouldn't give up the thing you love for another person.
