Okay!! Took some convincing, but I think I got it down packed.

There are several cool things you can do.

Access your user files through the CP
Browse your user files as a gallery (to do this, click a folder)
For example, in my case:
http://www.msprotege.com/members/enry/tere/ (notice the slash at the end.. you need that there)
If you browse your own gallery, you can change to a different gallery (other users don't see the select box)
Also, other users cannot browse your "root folder" gallery. What this means-if you don't share your gallery URL with anyone, nobody can figure it out. However, if someone guesses it, they can get in. This isn't imagestation, so there's no passwords or other advanced. This is only an easy way for you to upload images so that you can later insert them in the middle of your posts, or your sigs.

One more thing... You go and browse to find the four images and then move the cursor to the "folder" text input box. If you type in the folder name and press enter (do not click upload), it looks as though it starts uploading, however, it eventually just refreshes the page without the new files being shown.

If you do the same thing but *click* on Upload (instead of just hitting enter while the cursor is still in the folder name area), it properly uploads the files and puts them in the folder specified.

Do you mean cookies? I cleared my browser's cookies and it is still the same for me. Where do you clear the cache?

I tried uploading three pictures and this is the error that I got. I'm familiar with PHP coding, what should be done is make sure that there is a directory made or write some coding to detect the directory if it is not made, then create it and then move the file from the temp storage location to the destination.

Ok, Enry thanks for the "My Images" button, but there is still an issue. At least for me. First page comes up with the pics & has "insert in message". BUT move to another page & "insert in message" disappears & doesn't come back. Second, on that first page where the pics come up with "insert in message" under them. I click & get no image found. I fixed my problem as well Enry and Tease. In my Options panel there was a box for "show all images and hmtl in posts, etc.", this was unchecked. (dance)

Clicked on "Insert in message" and it shows a new page with "No images found." Looks like a small JS error occurs before IE reloads the page with the No images found message.

Hrm.. JS error huh.
Let me make sure you understand this. This window will only work the first time it's opened. That means, you hit reply, hit my images, it will work. If later you reply to another message, it probably will give you an error because
a) the page that originally opened it is gone
or
b) the script required to insert the images is only there on 2 pages... the "new thread" and the "reply" page

So if you're on either of those pages, hit "my images" again. In fact, I may force the "my images" page to close when you hit "post" or "post reply" because there's no point leaving it open..

the forum seems to take exception to my two computers since i can't upload anything except avatar pictures. Can someone help me with this? My desktop runs 98se with ie6.When i try to download, it gives me the warnings others had (unable to move etc...) and the files are useless. My laptop has xp pro, can't stay connected for any length of time, and when i hit upload it simply logs out.... any ideas?

It didn't do that before, either.

Also, I will check why the file does not change after it is deleted & reuploaded.

Also if you're having problems with any part of the site, COMPLETELY REMOVE any firewall or "protection" software you have. 99% of the problems on this site are caused by these kinds of programs. A stock install of any version of windows with IE 5 and above will work perfectly no this site. So should mozilla on any platform.

Could not upload files last night. I tried today from work and yes it worked, so either the forum doesnt like files uploaded from my computer (but attachments are fine) or the problem fixed itself.

The upload method I use on the upload is standard, I can't really think of a reason why it wouldn't work.. Anyone who's having problems should MSN me at mritalian@hotmail.com, if I can test it while you are trying to upload I can figure out where it's screwing up.

I deleted my 'signature.jpg' file.
Uploaded my updated 'signature.jpg' file.
Clicked on the link, still got the old signature picture. Even after a refresh.
