I was wondering if we can put a 1.8L engine in a 1.6L LX. So I was wondering since bp turbo engine is also 1.8L, wouldn't it take the same amount of work and money. I know it wont be cheap and easy. I was just wondering. Thanx for the help.

well ! here are my thoughts lol ..
3rd and 2nd gens use similar rear mounts so you could use a 2nd gen or (possibly) 1st gen G tranny and then use the 3rd gen engine mount.
You would be able to keep your 3rd gen crossmember and be able to use the front engine mount.
You would need a 1st or 2nd gen G tranny drivers mount (or a 3rd gen ES passenger mount may work)
You should be able to use the passenger side engine mount to hold the engine. If not just convert to a 2nd gen Mazdaspeed mount.
At this point the motor should be mounted.
To control the motor you could use a stand- alone engine management system. That would give you the best control over the motor and still let you keep your digital gauges and so forth.
