ok guys im a namebrand type of person, i dont like buying clones but my question is the HKS CF TI muffler is it realy worth spending the $300 for it vs say $180 for a clone?

The cheapest i found the hks cf ti muffler for is $295 shiped. Do you think the clones have the same sound and preformance as the hks does?

which clone were you thinking of getting? with all the mufflers i've seen (tsudo, ac revolution, etc.), i don't like any of the flame tips except for hks's. as for sound, well, i know ac revolution's can sound really nice. my friend has one on his 200sx....zero rice. it sounded like a tanabe. other than that, i dunno what other brands sound nice.

yeah it took me forever to decide which one to get between the HKS and the Megan Racing Carbon TI. I ended up going with the HKS Carbon TI exhaust just cause you cant go wrong with it. Its pretty much the best Carbon TI I have found so I guess Spending $100 more for garranteed greatness was worth it to me.

think of it this way... companies are *cloning* the HKS because it's good.. otherwise they wouldn't, right? right. now keep in mind that HKS has *YEARS* of tuning and incredible knowledge while these clone companies are mostly one started up when the import scene really took off.

you're not just paying for the name, you're paying for the research, the material, etc. don't skimp out on it.

Some things I am willing to pay money for quality, a tube of steel is a tube of steel if you ask me.

I got a tsudo cf and it works fine for me, although if i had $150 more to put in JUST a muffler i'd get HKS ....
