Next time you're driving and there's a person walking on the sidewalk, blast the turkey in their ear. LOL good times!

You sound like one of the SRT-4 owners who was at the south FL meet yesterday. There were like 25 of them there & every one would blow off like every 5 seconds...1 of them even did it in reverse. I look at the BOV as a performance upgrade, not some cool sound generating device to impress others. Unfortunately, I think that's a big reason why most people buy turbo cars.

Nope. 16k of hard miles on my car...NO shaft play (except for normal bearing play)

It's not the the stock air box draws in cool air anyway.

I like the sound of the surge too but at the same time I find it embarrassing. I can't help but think that when somebody else hears the gobble they think "poor dumb bastard can't even tune his car to get rid of the compressor surge." I guess that's a little paranoid though because I'm sure 90% of the people don't know WTF the noise is.

OK speaking of the Turkey..........I read up on fixing it and it seems a lil out of my expertise..... Do you think this is something a shop would know how to fix? Or is it something a MSP guru would have to fix

Actually he was right. Putting a cone in the direct place of the airbox's location will do nothing but blow hot air into the intake. If you do this, you need to find an extesnsion elbow to move it more over behind the headlight. Trust me. =)

talking about the surge, my buddy , when i was stationed in japan had a sylvia s13 and he had the same turkey sound in his car for over 140k km with original turbo and no hints of anything going bad because of the surge, he loved it. And so do i in my MSP, it is not like any other turbo car on the US roads and it freaks people out. i dont think it is harmful for my car at all.
