I know its been gone over a thousand times but I'm excited so I'm writing this post. :P

I just got a kartboy shifter bushing. The install instructions on their website were great. The entire job (including locating a 14mm wrench and some locktite) took less than 15 minutes.

I was able to get the OEM bushing off by using a screw driver to push the center pin throught just a little and then just sliding the assembly toward the cat. I did NOT have to cut the bushing to get it off.

My first drive impressions are that 2nd is now a lot harder to miss, and shifts now feel much more mechanical and predictable under 'enthusiastic conditions' ;) Its the best $25 I ever spent.

I just put mine in a few days ago. I don't think it makes the shifts easier, just more "solid". There is not as much movement in the shifter when going in and out of gears...solid; lol, that's the only word I can think of to describe it.

I'm still debating whether to do just the bushings or wait and to a whole TWM short shifter... What made you decide just to do the bushings? Price, or didn't want to shorten the throw?

i have the kartboy bushings sitting on my table and a b&m short shifter on the way.

what i like about B&M is that we can reuse our stock shift knob

I've read that Kartboy can thread their shifter to work with the stock knob.

It would be really nice to have a comparison thread between B&M, Kartboy, & TWM the way we are with springs, exhausts, etc. It's really hard to choose one based solely on opinionated replies. I'd prefer some cold, hard facts when making my decision.

I am happy with the stock throw. I got the bushings because I was growing annoyed with the indecisive feel of the shifts. The Kartboy bushing really makes it feel more precise and less squishy. I would recommend doing the bushings because its cheap and if ya still want a shorter throw your not out that much $$.

i've also read that someone tried to get kartboy to thread the lever and the said that they wont.

I personally thought the stock throw was short enough for me, I just wanted a more solid feel and at 25 bucks I thought why not.

Thks for your thoughts on the bushings vs short shift... Once the weather warms up I figure that's what I'll do - bushing only... cheers.

I think they are talking MSP knobs. I have had the bushings for a week now and shifting is not easier but it is firmer and there is very little play once it is in gear. The 1-2 Notch is less noticable as well.

You don't notice the notch as much from 1st - 2nd? I can notice it more, somone on here said that it might be because I overtightened the bolt, but I haven't checked that yet.
