Need Help W/Cool Air Intake for 1.6L

(drunk) I have a 2000 Protege DX 1.6L. I put a cool air intake last weekend but I'am having some problem.
1. I have to warm the car up ever time I get in it if not it will shut off
2. when I first start the car I hear strange noises like the engien is not getting enough air

what brand CAI did you get?

it sounds like the connection to the throttle body (pipe to engine) is loose or not connected right.

did you put a gasket in between your MAF and the CAI? if you didn't, air will leak in through there and mess up the MAF readings. go to a local bicycle shop and ask them for a blown inner tube. cut it to fit around the opening on the CAI. install the MAF, start your car, and spray windex around the seal to make sure it's a good one.

i have a weapon r sri for 120. i cudnt get my 1.6l to run good. i suggest u dont buy and intake because the 1.6l run like shit with them.
