I just wanted to share with everyone that cares that I finally got my msp back from the body shop. I wrecked it on the 30th of December and I didnt get it back until the 5th of Feb. It should of only taken 2 weeks or so to fix but the body shop dragged ass. I wound up costing about $8000 just to fix the strut, tires, steering, quarter panel, driver door, front bumper and to repaint.

I have never loved my car more than now. I kinda took advantage of having it, but I truely love this car. I missed it more and more everyday that it was gone. What is weird is...it seems now that tons of people are checking out this car and giving me compliments on it. Whereas some seen it before and never said anything. I have been driving down the road and seen people just look at the rims and car and general. And, today alone I had 3 people inquire about my car, saying that they are looking for a new one and wanted to know how much the car was and such.

I dont know if I just missed all the compliments before or they are just now coming. Either way, it just further reinforces my love for this car. Im going to take pics and put them up, before and after. It still hurts to see the accident pics, but it made me more of a defensive driver.

I hope a big chunk of that $8,000 is not the body shop dragging ass if they said they could get it done in two weeks. I would only pay them for two week's worth of labor if they quoted you that amount of time. Did your insurance pay for that? If not, $20,500 + $8,000 = a lot for even this great of a car.

I would surely be a moron to pay that 8000.... Insurance picked it up, i paid the deductible. But, this is one tough car. Ive seen cars after accidents, the way my car held up is amazing. Ive also seen the pics of the msp that went over the cliff, that too held up amazingly well. These are well built cars, I am content with the $20k i spent on it, I got a complete, reliable, well built car. No american car would ever hold up like that. For example, the mercury that hit me, it was totalled.

what all happened to your car? mine wasnt damaged that bad at all i didnt think. the brunt of the impact got the tire, so the strut and such were damaged, which took the longest. damn mazda kept sending reg protege parts.

Wait, someone in a Mercury hit YOU and YOU paid your deductible to have your insurance cover it? Did you have to claim it under uninsured motorist?

THe accident was in a parking lot, private property. Florida has a no fault law. since no body got ticketed, since it was private property, each owner had to make a claim

Wait, please explain this more completely if you can. I got in an accident & I wasn't aware of any special FL law.

the accident happened in a parking lot (of a store or mall i am assuming.)

the parking lot is private property, where the traffic cops have no juristiction.

thus no police report or citations were filed/issued,

under florida law, there must be a police report in order for the accident to be someone's fault

My accident happened at BCC, but we didn't file a police report because we agreed there was no need & I gave him my insurance info. Are you saying that if I didn't give the info, then I wouldn't be at fault or required to pay?

as long as one party admits fault then their insurance company will pay. this is what happened to me. but if they gave you bogus information then you dont have any proof to file a claim except against yourself.

How many MSPs are accidented or wrecked? Could this be an alarming trend?
