I think I am going to be put in the Mazda Booth at Hot Import Nights in Dallas on Aug 3rd. I contacted Mazda USA asking about it and was directed to the guy in charge of the Gulf region. He wanted to see pics of my car and I told him I would have a turbo MP3 in about 2 to 3 weeks. He said it looks good and they will probably want me in their booth. We started talking about the blue turbo P5 the RX7.com did. He said that it had 200hp. BS! I didn't say that of course. I just said "oh, really, wow!" I don't believe it though. It's not even intercooled, so it can't be running more boost than 5psi. Anyway, just though I'd let everyone know that. Hopefully I'll pick up a sponsor while I'm there and get some more stuff done.

I dunno...i think he could be running more than 5psi if it's not intercooled...it just won't be as good lb for lb....

You can run more than 5psi, but you better have some serious retard in the timing. Otherwise,.....BOOM!

Well guys, it's official. I got the word from Steve today that I'll definetelly be in the Mazda booth. I'm freaking excited! Here's his email. Now I need to get some Spool ITS decals and www.MazdaMP3.com, decals so I can advertise for all you guys. With the amounts of traffic that these manufacturer booths get, I'm sure a LOT of people will see my car.
Ben, looks like your in luck. We (Mazda) will have a 20'x 40' booth space with lights.
Move in is Friday, August 2nd between Noon - 6:00 PM
Go to the Information/Exhibitor check-in desk. A pass will be there under your name.

I got the same BS reply the first time I sent an email asking about Mazda's involvement with HIN. As soon as I got the BS reply from, I think her name is Jenifer, I sent a reply asking if there was any space in there booth for me. She emailed me back with another guy's phone number. So I called him and he sounded pretty excited about it. He was the one that claimed that the blue P5 turbo had 200hp.:bs: He sounded cool though besides that. And he just told me that it was very possible and to keep in touch. I guess persistance is the key. But get this. I tried contacting the guy incharge of Mazda paying the registration fee for the first 15 Mazdas that enter HIN Dallas. He replied once and I sent pics of my car and told him what was and was going to be on it by then. I emailed him like 20 times over two months. He never replied again. My car is good enough to be in the Mazda booth, but not good enough for them to pick up the tab? I don't get it. I think the weak link is the lazy asses that don't reply to anyone's emails. The Mazda guys will definetely know about this when I get there. They better reemburse me for my registration fee. I know I was one of the first 15 to register. Sorry about the long post.

I got approved, I was the first Mazda to register, they told me once you show up at the show, then they will reimburse your money. Maybe it is a fair trade.

I will be there too. I took off from work already!! I won't be entering because I don't think that I will have a shot a shit. I have too many cosmetic scars on the outside for various reasons.
