Email Problems

Hi guys,

I think I found the source of the email problems. That means any emails that should have been sent over the past few days are going out now. That counts for all emails. New registrations, password requests, email changes, and subscriptions. So expect an onslaught of emails as I've opened the floodgates.

enry, when I requested to change my password, I got an error screen stating I entered an invalid email (not true), and the forum mailed me the reset password email.

About 11:18am MST, so approximately 1/2 hour ago. Like I said, all the stuff went through OK, just that I got the error screen stating my email was incorrect. I didn't take a screen capture though.

No biggie for me, but I figured you'd want to know.

The spooler process is running properly and there are but a handful of messages in the queue. Your notifications should work. Please double check and let me know.

I tried to search and got a fatal error talking about too many bytes or something...one of the few times I try to do a search and this happens...lol, j/k, check it out if you have time.

And if it makes any difference I had the search narrowed to the MSP section.

enry all you need to do now to satisfy everyone is add the new threads to the right column on the main forum page, and everyone will be able to adapt. i think you are losing a LOT of activity due to that thread column not being there. and the front page can navigate the newest threads, i know, but there is only like 10 listed and no one feels like jumping around like that. and the new post feature sucks, it doesnt update all the time.

I said "screw qmail" and I used another mail wrapper. I hate this OS, red hat does everything its own way, nothing is standard. I'll add those things you mentioned over the weekend.

FYI: this may be due to the email fix you just did but I'm getting reply notifications in random order now. Example:
thread
|- reply 1
|- reply 2
|- my reply 1
|- reply 3
|- reply 4
`- reply 5

I'm getting emails for reply 5 before before 3 and so forth. The mail software may just be playing catch up, though.

Check your spam / junk mail folder please.. then check your mailbox is not full... then check your email address in your profile. The emails are going out, I know that cause I get 8 BILLION failure messages from people's mailboxes that are full or what not.
