In hopes of making ProtegeFest a national event down the road this fourm has been created for any members not involved with MOCC(Mazda Owners Club Of California)to see whats going on. Although ProtegeFest must be held in California to accomidate Mazda North America, I would like to gain outside interest as well as having the local members attend the event.
In this forum we will be posting all updates for the event, hotel accomidations, vendor listings, and cars that will be shown at the event. Along with many other useful information threads, as well as pictures. There are also many members that have expressed interest in planning or helping out with this event, this forum could also accomidate suggestions for anyone outside of CA members to help out.
Although this is only the first year of our event Mazda has faith in MOCC, and Mazdamp3 and there is no question in my mind that this event will be a great success. We have also discussed this event being held at Mazda R&D located in Irvine in the years to come for the future of ProtegeFest. This year we wanted to try a driving event, because that is something we had not done before, which is why ProtegeFest 2004 will be held at Barona Drag Strip located in San Diego CA. About 1 hour south of Mazdas headquarters.
Mazda has granted us(MOCC) a budget towards this event. They will be bringing food for ProtegeFest as well as several race and show cars. If this event was held anywhere farther away from Mazda R&D they would not support us as much as they do, and could not bring the cars out.
Antoine and I have discussed incorperating this forum into the ProtegeFest event, and I have several ideas that we have come up with. One being banners at the event from MSprotege.com, MSprotege.com site gear giveaways for the raffle, as well as the MSprotege logos on our flyers.
Sorry for all the babble. Anyone who is willing to help out with the event or has any questions please let me know. I would be more then happy to answer any. You do not need to be a member of MOCC to come to ProtegeFest, or help with the planning stages. Any dedicated members are welcome. We look foward to making this event one that all Protege owners and enthusiasts can enjoy.
If anyone has any questions regarding ProtegeFest 2004, feel free to post it, or PM me.
I would like this ProtegeFest forum to get others in this community involved in the event, in any way they would like.
Thank you for your time,
Stephanie
