alright i know every n00b on here is wondering so i might as well suck it up and ask.. there are times when i go to shift quickley, but ACCIDENTALLY let off the clutch a little too soon and hear a "EEEAAAAAHHHHEEERRRR" which is def metal on metal and sounds catastrophic... i try not to do it too much but it happens, what exactly is happening to my msp and what future problems could this casue?? all the n00bs can thank me later for azsking :-)

i was wondering why some people were having tranny issues, i think they weren't telling excactly what they were doing, at least mspeedpro isn't lying =) but yea, don't do that anymore lol

yeah, that is bad for the tranny. if you do it too much, you'll need a new tranny sooner or later. i think www.howstuffworks.com has a nice writeup on maunal transmissions. it'll show you exactly what you're doing.

letting off the clutch before putting it in gear isn't the cars fault.
hahha OFFICAL thread :p be mindful of how you're shifting...don't thrust the shifter too hard into the next gear or you can mess up really really bad and just end up being in the middle of shift forks and grinding HEAVILY. ack...i hope that's not what happened to my tranny. i gotta remind myself that the MSP tranny isn't as strong or as precise as the miata's

What's up with this guy asking on behalf of the "noobs"? I don't see a whole lot of noobies chiming in saying "wow, thanks for finaly answering my grinding gear question?" I think he just didnt want to sound stupid. Just my .02
