yea i have just changed job my stock car after i save about 2000 my car will be turned into a very quick msp.. i will run 15-20 daily i have 800 for internals =) so far.. might just go engine swap.. dunno yet though what do you guys think? if i keep current block all internal work will be done after 2000 save so if i blow something i can pay for it but i have had shit job and only made enough to keep car. but lots more money rolling now time to get to work.

Oh and discreet im waiting for vids of ur 15 psi =)

Yeah, it will be about $2,000 for just stronger internals installed. $1500 for good standalone engine management, and $500 for fuel components. That's already $4,000, and it's not gonna be much faster than stock. So, basic mods... Exhaust, Intake, Boost Controller, FMIC, probably new clutch... you'll be at around $7,000 spent on making your Protege a reliable high 13 second car. :)

Congrats on the new job. You're getting ahead of yourself with the car.

You're going to need a FMIC, Turboback exhaust and might as well throw a new clutch in too before you start throwing internals at your motor.

iON's FMIC is nice, but you may want to wait for the WangerMotorsports kit. It should be out in a few weeks.

Damn you, I wanted to get the ball rollin before anyone! lol jk.

I'm doing similar plans as well, I think I will fab my own fmic, anything under 30in long will fit, I'm not sure on the height, I think 8 to 10 is the max. And 3in thick is the standard.

I'm at a loss for fuel management systems, I have heard the haltech uses outdated software.

Let me give you some cool tips to save you some money, I got these from KyRacefan, he says the NA rex's use 440cc injectors, they just snap into place in ours. And the fuel pump for the NA rex will fit as well, a great way to save a few bucks.

Since I believe in the aspects of a community, I am sharing this info. Wish more and more people would share! :).

I will prolly be going with 8.5:1 compression ratio pistons, hopefully perftworks still has the hook up on the shop. Prolly go through him for the rods as well.

The clutch and flywheel are a no brainer to replace, but it ruins the car as a everyday driver until you practice a lot with the changes.

My biggest fear is the tranny going out on us. I heard the manuals are good for 260whp. That will through a wrench in the mix for sure in the search of 13s(I believe you need about 280 to 300 for a deep 12 low 13 car depending on weight, please correct me if wrong).

Sounds like you may beat me to it though, I'm still working for low wages, but I go the wheels in motion.

Keep us posted, and dont be scared about sharing information with me or other msp owners, it is how the community will grow.

PM or IM me sometime bro, we can shoot the shit.

for drag you need to be looking at torque numbers, not hp.
