I think the type S you need some sort of adapter kit. But the hose will connect from the bov to the intake piping before the turbo but after the maf.

If you don't recirculate it will probably sound a lot better. I heard one on a 10psi MSP last Monday and it sounded so good I ordered the piping and valve myself today. If you do choose to recirculate post a video clip here so we can all hear what it sounds like.

ok thanks bro. but maf = ? mass air flow? is that the thing just after the air filter? and that thing that connects between the upper ic pipe to the intake is what? is that the wastegate?
..sorry if i sould like an idiot, like i said, im new to this turbo stuff but love it

You are correct, maf = mass air flow meter. If you currently have the stock piping it is the small box right behind the air filter box. It'll have a connecter on it. The wastegate is connected to the turbo. If you look on the current bypass valve and you'll see a vacuum hose. Follow that back and you'll find a tee. Follow the vacuum hose that lead down into the turbo and thats the wastegate. The bypass valve is the smallish round looking part that is in the middle of the hose connecting the upper IC tube to the intake tube.
By the way its always better to ask questions to get it right than to guess and get it wrong! :)

Sounds like you're describing the MAF. Perhaps someone can post a quick picture with necessary attachment points?
anyone?

ok thanks notorious now i can look at my turbo and actually know a little about it ;) so now to recirculate it can i make another t in that vacuum hose coming out of the bpv? or do i have to put it somewhere else?
and 1 more thing for my learning brain - where is our stock bov?

does it even matter where i recirculate it? i mean i understand it has to be before the turbo and after the maf... so can i just pick any vacuum hose on that pipe connecting to the turbo?

you're not recirculating thru the vaccum line. you'll run the bypass hose from the outlet on the TypeS to the feed nipple on the intake. you need to connect the wastegate vaccum to the TypeS vaccum. that way the BOV can open as soon as the wastegate opens.
the stock bpv is a little black unit connected between the intake pipe and the lower intercooler-throttle body pipe. it should be just to the left of the airbox and on the firewall side of the intake pipe.

technically you should recirculate it.............but you shouldnt have any problems not recirculating if you still run the stock BPV.

Exactly what the guys above said. There is thread somewhere where you can recirc the stock valve and open vent the type s. It sounds really awesome I highly recommend that you at least try that setup. I think you'll enjoy it.

thanks guys you all have been a great help! i think i fixed my stalling problem without having to recirculate it though..i just tightened the spring on the bov. i hope that fixed it. got_boost - do you recommend i recirculate it? how is yours setup? thatd be great if you can post vids for us to hear and see
mx3ownsjoo- what nipple on the intake? i still have my stock intake with an aftermarket filter.

the nipple is on the intake piping. its after the MAF, not illustrated, and before the compressor inlet on the intake piping. it's labelled "BPV inlet" in the diagram.

boosted- i dont see any reason why you would need to recirculate it, but to each his own. here's a link with pics to my setup.
